About the adventure

Many hundreds of years ago, the forces of good allied to destroy the main Temple of Orcus in the ancient city of Tsar. With their temple in ruins, the surviving high priests of this accursed demon-god fled the city with an army of enemies on their trail — an army of heroic fighters, clerics and paladins — led by Zelkor, a powerful wizard. The exact fate of these evil priests is unknown, for not only did the remnants of the followers of Orcus disappear from all human reckoning, but so did the army of light that followed after them disappear as well, with only a handful of survivors known. Some said that in the eternal scales, the loss of so many good men was a fair price to pay to rid the world of so much evil. The evil cult, however, had not been destroyed. The surviving priests and their followers instead settled on a hill near the Forest of Hope, a sylvan woodland near the Coast Road. There they found a vast underground complex of caverns and mazes, carving out a volcanic intrusion beneath the hill. The priests of Orcus had found the perfect lair to continue their vile rituals. For many years, they carried on in secret, hidden from the light and from the knowledge of men. Many years later, their underground delving was completed, and the evil priests erected a hideous mausoleum and graveyard atop the hill. It is believed that these graves are the final resting place of the pursuing army of heroes that had been destroyed to a man. Soon after the mausoleum was erected the peaceful creatures of the wood began to disappear. Though many rangers and druids investigated these happenings, the cause of the creatures’ disappearance was not immediately determined. Some years later a powerful group of adventurers, led by Varkin, an Elven nobleman, investigated the evil happenings and found the sunken graveyard leading to a labyrinthine complex. Varkin and his companions found great hordes of evil creatures in the complex. Though some of his companions returned from their expedition, telling tales of fantastic treasure and ferocious monsters, many of them never returned — lost in the catacombs beneath the cursed mausoleum. For the last century and more, ranks of adventurers have ventured to the newfound dungeon. Thanks to these adventurers and Varkin's vast riches from plundering the dungeon, a new city was formed with the dungeon at its core...Gravemantle. Now, dozens of new adventurers delve into the Dungeon of Graves. The rare few who return from deeper treks speak of horrible undead and creatures that cannot be slain. All who have explored Rappan Athuk offer this one universal piece of advice: “Don’t go down the Well."

Have been playing a three sessions in his CoC campaign, and so far, I'm having a great time. He knows how to set the mood and how to explain things to beginners.

Can’t believe I haven’t left a review for this guy yet. He’s an epic DM. He rolls with the punches when needed, allows for creativity, and in terms of storytelling always leaves room for progression while still giving cathartic emotion within a setting. I’d happily play more games with this guy if my schedule wasn’t terrible. But he’s great at communicating and setting immersion into the settings. Would recommend him to anyone.

I've been in a few sessions with this Game Master, and so far me and him have both been having an amazing time! He has amazing voices, maps, music, and storytelling skills! If I could select more than three tags, he would check off all the categories and then some! This man has a great knowledge about the settings that he runs, and when he doesn't, he actively researches and takes the time to do deep dives to make sure he provides the most immersive and realistic experience he can provide to you. When I play with him in my Dragon Ball game, I feel like I am a character plopped straight into the Show, and it feels amazing! He also is very energetic and it makes me happy to see that he is having just as much fun and passion as I am about our game. Especially after coming off a bad game previously, this guy has given me a breath of fresh air and a place of safety that brings me endless joy whenever we play together, regardless of how long we spend time together! So if you want a kind, compassionate, and enjoyable friend to tell stories with that will help immerse you into a whole new world and setting and story, than look no further than your only hope for Fun Times: Obi-Wan!

Obis been one of my top picks for DM for a good while now. Really a DM who cares about your character and story as much as you as a player does and is invested in the whole party and the world at large. Out of my 15 or so years or TTRPG experience hes an honest stand out as a GM!

One of the best GMs I've ever had. He always listens to his players and is open to feedback and makes changes based on it. His stories are really engaging, I've been enjoying playing in his dungeon crawler game. He is able to take this genre of games and keep from falling into the find a room, fight this enemy and loot said room loop that can happen. He also really gets into character with his NPCs giving them all unique voices and character traits that help bring the world to life. Finally he's open to most creativity/stupid ideas I and other players come up with in situations. Like recently our party got a wish from a beholder that we defeat in our dreams (long story) and he allowed for us to create this paragraphs long wish, was kinda more of a contract, and implemented it in all it dumb glory, along with its unforeseen consequences.

I randomly signed up for a oneshot to help my current dm with testing some stuff, and Obi was the dm, and I cant say that i’ve ever had a better experience while playing dnd. The pacing was fantastic and they gave us the necessary space to be ourselves and roleplay. The combat was well run and fast-paced and they kept the whole party engaged with the story. Even if it might have been a oneshot I am glad to have met them and look forward to being in their games.

Character creation
Creating your character

We will go over Character Creation in more detail during the Session 0. But for the most part we will be using the 2014 5e rules, not the new 2025 Versions. All you need to do before session 0 is come up with an idea for a Level 3 Character and come up with at least a simple backstory (1-3 Paragraphs is usually plenty to start.) that we can build upon together to really make sure you feel like you're a part of the world. We will be using Rolled Stats for Characters (We will roll together during session 0), You may choose to either Roll HP or take Average for each level after 1st, and all characters will be starting off with a Special Item that I will make myself and present to you in private. All these items are custom made by me as a small boon that will grow in strength alongside the party. While I don't outright ban any books, races, classes, or content, I do please ask that you run any and all character creation choices past me so I can approve them. I will more than likely be alright with them, but in the event that I think the idea is unfitting or needs tweaking, I will personally sit down with you and help rework things to better suit the campaign and still live up to the original idea as closely as I can. And in terms of Homebrew, I am more than willing to give Classes, Races, and So on a look. But I make no promises that I will approve them. Don't be shy about sending me a class to ask if you can play it, or running a custom racial option past me, but I withhold the right to deny you the permission to play them if I feel the option is too overwhelmingly unfitting for this campaign or uproots the established balances of 5e in a way that would be unfair/unfun for the other players at the table.

What to expect
Preparing for the session

Please have a Microphone, A Stable Internet Connection, and a Functioning Computer (PC or Laptop). I will be running this campaign in English Only, so please be Fluent enough to adequately communicate in English. A Discord and Roll20 account are also required, but both are entirely free to sign up for, and can be run on an Internet Browser with no downloads required. I will provide a copy of the Relevant 5e Books needed for this campaign to all players myself, so you do not need to worry about purchasing any of the materials. If you already have the books in your possession, feel free to read up on the rules, but otherwise we will go over most of them together during a Dedicated Session 0. A Basic Understanding of 5e Rules and How To Play is also appreciated.

What Obi-Wan brings to the table

This campaign will be held over Roll20, a Virtual Tabletop (VTT), to store Character Sheets, Perform Rolls, and View Maps/Art used to set the scene, along side Discord for the Voice Chat and Information Posting. As a GM, I do voices for all the NPCs my players meet along the way and have been told I am quite good at them. While I don't have an official catalog of work, I have done some very minor Voice Acting for Friends and have been a DM/Player of various TTRPGs for over a decade now, honing my craft all the while. I play music/ambiance for all of my sessions, doing my best to fit the current mood and stylings of the scene before you to make them as intense and enrapturing as possible. If I can make the rest of the world fade away as you get drawn so deeply into the scene, I've succeeded at my job. I tend to be a bit more on the Rules-Lite side of things for most of my systems. If you can give me a reasonable explanation for something, I tend to allow it at least once. I love allowing Rule Of Cool moments, so long as they aren't breaking the system too much or taking enjoyment away from other players. Overall, I'd like to think I am a fairly attentive and creative DM with a reasonable pool of experiences to draw upon to make my games as fun and inviting as possible for a wide array of people. I will do everything within my power to make this game (and any others I may run for any of you lovely people in the future) one to remember. In addition to all that, I bring a massive array of different Homebrew Add-Ons to improve the D&D 5e experience as much as possible. Over 30 New Weapons (Including an entire new Weapon Classification!), Reworked and Improved Armor Types, and 50+ New Weapon Properties.

Safety
How Obi-Wan creates a safe table

As a GM, It is part of my job to make sure everyone feels safe, comfortable, and is enjoying the experience of my campaigns. I check in on people at the end of every session, make sure to take at least one break over the course of it, and do my best to make all my players feel welcome and allowed to speak up at any time if something is making them uncomfortable or if they need a moment to collect themselves. My session 0s are primarily designed to help get people accustomed to the system I'm using if they need it, introducing people to each other to make sure the group will work well together, and running over all the important details on each player's comfort levels. In addition to a dedicated Session 0 with the entire group, I always do my best to answer any questions sent to me in private between or before games, and help develop character ideas to the fullest.
