How Should Players Prepare? 1. Required Hardware: - Microphone: Players must have a working microphone for voice communication. - Webcam: Optional, but not required. 2. Required Software & Accounts: - Roll20 Account: Players need a free Roll20 account to access maps, combat encounters, and the virtual tabletop. - Discord Account: A free Discord account is required for voice chat and out-of-game communication. - D&D Beyond Account: A free D&D Beyond account is required for character creation and gameplay resources. 3. Character Creation: - Characters will be created collaboratively during Session 0. 4. Familiarity with Rules: - New Players: No prior knowledge of D&D is required. I will explain key rules during the session as needed. - Experienced Players: Familiarity with the rules is appreciated but not mandatory. Focus on creativity and collaboration. 5. Immersion Through Atmosphere: - Ambient Music and Sound Effects: I carefully match music to the environment and action on each map, using Roll20’s audio features to heighten immersion. My GM Style Roleplay: I use voices to the best of my ability to distinguish between NPCs, adding a touch of depth and personality for a more immersive experience. Combat: I lean into cinematic combat that emphasizes creativity and fun while staying grounded in the rules. Players are encouraged to think outside the box, and I’m open to bending the rules slightly for innovative ideas. Rule of Cool: My games prioritize player creativity and enjoyment. Breaks: Each session will include at least one scheduled break, typically around the halfway point, to ensure players have time to rest and recharge. Additional breaks can be requested by any player at any time, no questions asked. Session 0: Before the game begins, we will hold a Session 0 to discuss character creation, player expectations, campaign themes, and preferred safety tools. This session will also cover consent regarding in-game themes (e.g., horror, moral dilemmas) and align expectations for tone and content. Additional Gameplay Details: - Inclusivity: This game welcomes players of all experience levels and backgrounds. I aim to create an inclusive and supportive environment. - Tone: The campaign is a mix of exploration, intrigue, and epic adventure with moments of lightheartedness. How will character creation work

Character Creation Guidelines - Timing: Character creation occurs before Session 0 but will review then together to ensure alignment with the campaign and party goals. - Stat Generation: Use the point buy system unless stats are rolled with the Avrae Bot in the discord. Each player may roll twice for stats, keeping only one complete stat block. - Starting Level: Campaign begins at level 2 and concludes at Level 17. - Backstory Integration: will be discussed in session 0 Character Sheets: - Characters sheets are to be created on D&D Beyond using the 2024 ruleset. Paper sheets are permitted for personal use but a digital version must also exist on D&D Beyond. Roll20 character sheets are optional. Resources: - Players have access to D&D Free Rules (2024), Player's Handbook (2024), Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Fizban's Treasury of Dragons, and other available content. Unearthed Arcana or homebrew material must be pre-approved. Backstory: - Backstory integration will play some role in the narrative and character development.
