About the adventure

If you've always wanted to try DND, come join me! I am a DM with 10 years of experience. I want to run a pirate themed adventurer for players at level 5. This will be a fun adventure set on the high seas. You can expect plenty of swashbuckling action and roleplay. The one shot starts off with your pirate crew sailing back to port after successfully capturing your captain's rival on the high seas. Your goal is to turn her in for the substantial bounty on her head. But nothing is as it seems... and this mission may have more twists and turns than first expected.

About me

Howdy! My name is Ellie. I have been playing and DMing DND 5e and a host of other systems (such as Masks, Monster of the Week, Good Society, and have even made my own TTRPG system) for almost 10 years. I would love to take my skill set and use it to host even more games. DMing is super fun for me, and I love coming up with new modules and story ideas to have a good time with players foiling my plans every step of the way. I am part of the LGBT community, and when I host games you can be sure that it is a safe space for any queer players. I also do not tolerate racism, sexism, or any other hateful content or speech at my tables. I aim to make my games fun and safe for all involved. On this note, I utilize the X card so that players know they can take a time out any time if needed to discuss how to proceed if they are uncomfortable with a current situation in game. I am open to almost any setting or system that you want to try. I am a flexible, highly collaborative DM who plays for the love of the game. Please feel free to message me any specific questions on discord.

Character creation

Creating your character

Before session I will conduct a 10-15 minute meeting to help people build characters as needed. Starting at level 5, using standard array stats.

The current party

The adventure is free! I know it's confusing because the price is listed at $5, but that's because I couldn't figure out how to set it to $0. Once you join the adventure I will manually set the price to 0!

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Please at least have a microphone, a discord account, and a roll20 account. Please create level 5 characters beforehand or message me to schedule a session to build your character together.

What Ellie brings to the table

We will be using Roll20 for maps and combat. I can make custom tokens for all players beforehand. I will also be experimenting with ambient music. I love a tactical combat paired with roleplay, so expect to get a chance to flex both of those muscles! The game will be conducted on a video discord call.

Safety

How Ellie creates a safe table

We will be using an X card. Players can privately message me the phrase "x card" or say it verbally on the video call in order to use it.
