Foodspire|| A 5e Delicious in Dungeon West Marches Campaign

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | One-Shot

About the adventure

Welcome to Foodspire, the city where culinary prowess is everything, and every dish is a matter of life and death. Beneath the bustling streets lies a sprawling dungeon—a labyrinth of danger and delight where only the boldest Master Chefs can transform rare ingredients into legendary dishes. But the real heroes are the members of the Foraging Guild, daring adventurers like you, tasked with descending into the depths to find the ingredients that fuel the city's menus. It's your job to Navigate the shadowy depths, hunt monstrous prey, and bring back the critical components that Master Chefs need to set their creations apart. Your rewards? A reputation as a top-tier Forager, the thrill of the hunt, wondrous items, and a taste of the finest dishes the city has to offer—crafted with the ingredients you risked it all to secure. This is a survival-based, collaborative, and explorative-style dungeon-crawling adventure where monster hunting meets fine dining. Where players will explore and map out expansive environments on Dungeon floors, collaborate with other guild members, and work to bring great esteem to the Foraging Guild.

Recruiting notes

This is a West Marches Style campaign. This caters to players who need flexibility in commitment while being able to explore more expansive plots as they participate. With nearly 80+ players in-game, there are always opportunities to jump in on a session, and while starting players may initiate at low levels, all players seek to help you grow to be the best Forager you can be.

Eli has created an excellent world through Foodspire. They allow for so much player creativity and great role playing while also having balanced encounters where many characters of varying levels can still have fun playing together. The community they have built is very welcoming and a great place for players of any level of experience!

Eli is a fantastic story teller and performer. I have enjoyed all of my sessions with her. She is always respectful of our time as a group and of our time as individual characters getting screen time. I think these sessions are a great value and time!

Session started off great, a detailed backdrop and all-around character intro and Music backdrop. I did have voice dropouts twice for about 30 seconds, and everyone was really chill about it. The “hook” was a choose-your-level format, and the ultimate direction or goal seemed like wait and see . The GM does not make clear in the announcement that this is a sort of campaign of one-shots, and we had 2-3 returning players with roughly 6 levels ahead of my GM-directed starting 3rd-level character. The first two of three maps each had 2 skill checks & searches unrelated to the final boss. The only combat happened at the 3.25 hr mark and was a lone wyveren who was killed in just over one round.

I played in the Foodspire campaign and had an absolute blast. The world is really interesting and creative, and the rules are well documented and easy to follow. Eli is was really accommodating with character creation and allows for a ton of creativity. I'm excited to play again!

Great job putting together a one-shot that combined higher and lower ability characters. She has put a lot of work into a homebrew world whose design makes sense from a mechanical and roleplaying perspective.
