About the adventure

A Story-Driven Campaign for Roleplayers Who Crave Depth System: D&D 5e/2024 Setting: Grimdark Low-Magic Fantasy Style: Heavy Roleplay, Political Intrigue, Slow-Burn Mystery Spots Available: 2 (out of 4) Cost: 10$ per session Time: Bi-weekly Wednesdays 8-11pm EST --- What I'm Looking For This is a story-first campaign focused on character-driven arcs, moral complexity, and rich worldbuilding. If you're someone who: Thrives on in-character tension and dialogue Loves to weave backstories into the setting Wants to uncover secrets, not just loot Prefers clever solutions over combat dominance Then this is your seat at the table. This is not a good fit if you're focused on optimizing builds, chasing the biggest numbers, or skipping roleplay in favor of rolling dice. We're looking for players who want to shape the world, not just conquer it. --- The Hook It has been 140 years since the last king of Narymoor fell, and the royal line was swallowed by fire. In the years since, the Church of Solais and the Guild Compact have ruled in uneasy alliance, keeping the peace through fear, gold, and silence. But cracks are beginning to form. Whispers stir of dreams that do not belong to the dreamer. Old oaths are spoken again. The land remembers what the world tried to forget. As Caerthwyn prepares to celebrate the Phoenix Festival—a summer holiday born from the monarchy’s ashes—something moves beneath the surface. A single spark may light the fire that reshapes a nation. --- Tone & Themes Gothic and Political Tension between faith, tradition, and rebellion Characters will face moral ambiguity, difficult choices, and shifting allegiances --- The Players So Far We have: A knightly character from Narymoor’s forgotten oaths, hoping to restore honor in a broken land. A tabaxi druid from the Beastlands on a spiritual pilgrimage, navigating a world alien to her ways. We’re seeking 2 more deeply rooted characters to join them. --- Interested? Apply with a short intro about yourself and the kind of character you’d like to play. Serious storytellers only. Let’s build something unforgettable!

About me

Hello, my name is Josh. I have been DMing for 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons since 2016. I have a deep passion for roleplaying games and love helping people bring their characters to life through shared storytelling. I primarily run my games using roll20 as a Virtual Tabletop or VTT and use Discord for communication.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be made alongside the DM to make sure that their backstories will be deeply entwined in the story that unfolds. After giving some initial information in the session 0 players will be given small info packets on the world lore and then have the agency to come up with a character they love that fits snuggly into the setting.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

I ask that all players keep a notebook and pen ready for note-taking to help keep players engaged in the happenings of the session. Even if its just used for doodling ive found that keeping some stationary on hand improves session retention and helps blend the sessions together without need of too much callback to previous sessions/events.
