About the adventure

🗺️ Deep beneath the rugged peaks, your miners have breached the walls of a vast cavern, rich with iron and gemstones, but unknown dangers lurk in the darkness. ⚔️ As part of the outpost militia, it is your privilege and greatest honour to be the first to step into the unknown, for the glory of all Dwarf-kind. Goblins, were-creatures, necromancers, and ancient horrors stand in your way, but it is nothing that Dwarven Steel can't handle. In this campaign you will: - Be a Dwarf! - Wear the heaviest armour. - Wield the heaviest weapons! - Defend the outpost. - Lead bold expeditions into the depths and into the overlands. - Hard work ensures that your humble settlement grows from a simple mining camp into a mighty fortress. Expect heavy homebrew, tough battles, and lots of roleplaying as the Fortress expands. New players will feel at home. We use Pathfinder because of its excellent martial and gun mechanics. D&D 5e players always pick up the rules easily. Session 0 and 1 are Free. Come on over, ask me anything.

About me

Greetings and salutations! I have been playing TTRPGs for over 20 years, starting with AD&D and have been a DM for over 5 years. Character story and Immersion is one of the most important things to me. My main strength as a DM is setting the right atmosphere to make you feel truly heroic by weaving backstory, roleplaying, and combat into those epic, unforgettable moments. I’m skilled at integrating your character’s story into the world and encouraging roleplaying, even during combat: what you say in the middle of an attack matters for your character immersion as well! My style is serious and grounded, but I always leave room for humor when the moment calls for it. I really enjoy creating opportunities for character interactions. As a storyteller with high skill in improvisation, I can react instantly to your most surprising decisions and affect the world in a meaningful way. I hope we can leave the real world behind: pop culture references, memes, or politics waters down the experience. I want to fully immerse in the fantasy world and enjoy the adventure. I’m looking forward to meeting you!

Character creation

Creating your character

- Everybody on the team will be a dwarf. That's the point of this campaign. - The classes have to be Dwarf-flavoured to keep the immersion alive. Other classes will work as long as they don't break the dwarven immersion. (Psionicist? Arcane sorcerer? Possible, but probably not.) - No evil characters! - Dwarves are known to be rude, but the players should be kind towards each other. Player backgrounds will have an impact! Player decisions will change the story and locations you visit. I create my own maps in Inkarnate, so I will build the world as you expand.

The current party

The party is now Level 7 We have: - A dwarven Rifleman and magic craftsman. - A dwarf/oread Stone Order Druid, with Geomancer dedication. - Warrior/Champion of Magrim.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need: - a computer with a modern browser. - a Forge-VTT free player's account here: https://forge-vtt.com/account/signup - a Discord account and a good microphone. Cameras are optional. I will send the invites to Discord and Forge after a quick chat.

What Ekscom brings to the table

- Foundry VTT. - Quality art. - Custom maps that I create, tailored to what is needed. - I am a master of creating immersion and at improvisation. Your choices will matter!

Homebrew rules

Come prepared for realistic and grounded Rule of Cool. If it sounds logical and possible, it happens! There is no way that the authors of the rules have covered every single possible situation. There will always be room for improvising and interpretation of the rules, depending on the situation.
