About the adventure

The adventure begins on Stormwreck Isle, where the heroes find themselves caught in the echoes of an ancient dragon war. Soon they see signs of a rising darkness—rumors of dragon cultists, strange magical disturbances, and ancient relics awakening once more. Their journey leads them to the frontier town of Phandalin, where a lost mine—rich with long-buried magical power—has just been rediscovered. But the mine is not as forgotten as it seems. Goblins, mercenaries, and sinister agents of the Cult of the Dragon are already making moves to claim it. As the party works to save Phandalin, they uncover a chilling truth: the cult seeks to raise Tiamat, the Queen of Dragons. What began as a quiet voyage to a mysterious island becomes a sprawling battle across the Sword Coast. This adventure is set in the Forgotten Realms and combines Dragons of Stormwreck Isle, Lost Mines of Phandelver, Dragon of Icespire Peak, and the Tyranny of Dragons into one long campaign. The combination of these modules will mean certain parts are very linear, while other parts will be more sandbox (for example, Dragon of Icespire Peak is more of a sandbox, but Tyranny of Dragons is more linear).

About me

Writer, Cool Gay Uncle and Dungeon Master (in a nerdy way, not a kinky one) I am a DM with 7 years and countless campaigns worth of experience. I have played with hundreds of players, and I hope you're the next one at my table (virtual or otherwise) I also am the Dungeon Master on the sci fi D&D podcast, The Actual Players. Character creation

Creating your character

Start at Level 1 We will begin with a free Session 0 where players can create characters and discuss the game. Anybody who joins the campaign later should coordinate with me to make sure either I can make your sheet or you can! Players are encouraged, but not required, to make a character that is one of the following: 1. A traditional fantasy archetype such as an elf archer, dwarf with an axe, or bearded wizard. 2. Something related to dragons, such as a Dragonborn, Drakewarden Ranger, Draconic Sorcerer, or Cleric of Bahamut. 3. Something specific to the Forgotten Realms, such as a Dwarf Battlerager Barbarian or Cleric of Forgotten Realms God.

The current party

Our next session will be session 10. The level 2 group is currently in Phandalin. We left off with a tense encounter with someone from one of the player's past.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should have created accounts for Roll20 and Discord and connected to the server to ensure a smooth start to the game. Players should also message me to discuss whether you want to create your character yourself or if you want me to create it.

What Tyler Lewis Wardle - Dungeon Master brings to the table

I use Roll20 for combat and maps and use Discord for voice chat. I tend to be a pretty lax DM, embracing the Rule of Cool and making the game more about being fun and creating an awesome story! I am a writer and I have a background in theatre, so I can create intricate characters and plotlines. I'm also a master worldbuilder, having spent countless hours developing various D&D worlds.

Homebrew rules

If a rule is unclear, I tend to rule in the players' favor.

Safety

How Tyler Lewis Wardle - Dungeon Master creates a safe table

I will send each player a request for their Lines and Veils and we will discuss them before beginning (This process would be anonymous. Nobody at the table would know who set each line or veil, just that someone at the table set it).
