About the adventure
This beginner-friendly adventure will include all the guidance new players need to have fun with the new D&D rules. I'll bring the world and characters to life with voice, art, maps, and lore. Meanwhile we'll introduce and explore game mechanics at a pace where everyone can have fun and learn. The party will be able to establish bastions when they reach 5th level. I've run several tables through Lost Mine of Phandelver. The characters and monsters the party encounters will behave like a cast of characters and not give off those flat "NPC vibes." All experience levels are welcome at the table, but we'll be focused on being an introduction for new players. If you're an experienced player looking to be introduced to the 50th anniversary rules through play, this may be a great fit for you too. I've been introducing players to D&D and other RPG's for years, and I'm eager to help with all questions from "What's a Hit Point?" on. Cover art is commissioned from Leraynne S.

How to prepare
Ensure you have Discord ready and your microphone and speaker work for a voice call. Having access to a "50th Anniversary" Players Handbook, print or digital version, is recommended but not a requirement to begin.
What I provide
We'll use the D&D Beyond Character sheets, Roll20, and Discord for voice and text chat. I do character voices to set the characters apart, and set the mood with dramatic exposition.
Gameplay details
My goal is to provide a respectful and easygoing gaming experience for everybody, where everyone can relax and have fun. We'll start with a Session 0 where we determine what content folks want in or out of the game. Assume a PG-13 experience unless there's consensus at the table to adjust that. We'll have an open door policy if anyone needs to step away for any reason. Everyone is encouraged to speak up if anything at the table behavior is not for them, and we can make adjustments, either publicly in the group or messaging me directly. Players can chat in the Discord chat for the table, or message me directly on Discord any time.

How will character creation work
Character creation will be done together during Session 0. Stats will be done "by the rules" with point buy or standard array. We'll use the 50th Anniversary rules. PC's will start at first level, and will proceed at the pace of the published adventure. Be aware: unlike some campaign books, Phandelver's level one through four section is a whole adventure, not a way to get PC's quickly to level 5.
