The Call of the South Wind
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
"I don't know where they came from. I don't know why they came. But when they did, I do know that they destroyed entire villages and laid waste to whole cities. Their purpose is one, and one alone: to bring about total oblivion... And I don't know if all the armies in Calenthrix will be enough to stop them...." ~ Faroux Lithnoron, messenger to the court of Korghaen. "The Call of the South Wind" is a D&D 5e (2024) campaign set in the world of Calenthrix. Adventurers find themselves embroiled in a conflict greater than the continent has ever seen as mysterious armies set foot on far shores. Discover their aims, unite disparate city-states, uncover mysteries, and prove that even the strangest creatures can find love. What hijinks will your adventurer get into? Let's find out! All experience levels are welcome, and all that's needed is a working Discord, mic, and internet connection! Come and join me on an exciting adventure!
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.

Storytelling
One of the best GMs I know, I'm glad to be a part of her games. Story-focused and character-driven interactions are the backbone of their sessions, connecting to the core of the players' power fantasies and narrative desires. Whether new to a system or a veteran, they and anyone between are welcome at the table, and each share an equal space on and off the table. I cannot recommend this GM enough if you are looking for something new or something captivating.
Additional details
How to prepare
In order to play, it is recommended (though not required) to have access to the 2024 Core Rulebooks. However, these same rules and guides can be accessed on 5etools. All experience levels are welcome, and it is recommended to have an account on Roll20 for the purposes certain events. That said, much of the game will be theater of the mind. A Discord account is a requirement, as I will be providing a server in which lore, maps, images, private player channels, etc will be hosted.
What I provide
I will be utilizing hand-drawn world maps in addition to Roll20 for the purposes of certain combat sequences. Additionally, I embrace the Rule of Cool, and seek to enjoy creating a story with those who join my games. All the while, you can be sure to experience a safe space and getaway from the trials of the world!
Gameplay details
Prior to the start of each session, I will have a discussion with the group as a whole, to ascertain key triggers which will be kept in mind and expected to be respected by all players at the table without exception, and to ensure that all players are made aware of the open-door policy. Every session will include a 20-minute break (not included in charged time) to decompress and/or have a bio-break. During the course of the session/campaign, as the need arises, any players who encounter a trigger may either speak up per Luxton Technique, or to take a break as needed, per open-door policy. Between sessions, I utilize a Stars and Wishes channel, for feedback and critiques. Before the campaign, a Session Zero will be held to help with character creation, establish table rules, and to help give me an idea of what the players would like to see and would not like to see over the course of the campaign.

How will character creation work
Character creation will be tackled before the first session of the game, utilizing the 2024 rules set for 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons. A standard array will be utilized for ability scores, while the characters will be starting at level 5. As always, I'm more than happy to assist in character creation!
