True Chaos Sorcery
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | One-Shot
About the adventure
True Chaos Sorcery is an improv-heavy comedy one-shot where every spell cast is created from a list of transitive verbs and nouns. Want to see what that looks like? Try out the spell generation at the link below: http://dionysus.headass.house:3001/
Game style
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

Corey is an incredible dungeon master, story teller, and world builder. I have had the privilege in playing in multiple campaigns of his and each time I have been blown away by his ingenuity and creativity. He has an amazing ability to create intriguing worlds that make we want sessions to never end. Additionally, I have always felt comfortable, welcomed, and encouraged to take big swings at his table. He knows how to improvise wonderfully so that everyone’s ideas can be woven into the story. He’s the best!
Corey is a fantastic GM. His nearly decade of experience really shows - our sessions have always felt smooth, even when I know he's improving off of just a couple bullet points of notes. He's great about guiding character development, creating interesting puzzles and combat scenarios, and will roll with the wacky ideas players come up with. Above all, Corey fosters a great environment at his table and works to understand his players, which sets up really enjoyable sessions.
Got to step into a campaign of his as a temporary NPC-turned-PC for a session and had a blast. Kept things moving in the dungeon he built for us at a good pace, and very helpful with clueing me into the world and story I was jumping into so I wasn't lost during narrative moments. Overall just very approachable and capable of wearing all the hats needed to be a good DM.
I’ve played in a campaign run by Corey for the past three years, and I can confidently say he’s one of the best DMs I’ve ever played with. He creates amazing worlds full of lovable NPCs and memorable adventures. I don’t think I’ve laughed as hard as I have at his table during any other campaign. Great voices and a great storycrafter, and makes sure everyone at the table is having a great time
Corey is a fantastically creative and welcoming GM! His stories are encapsulating and seemlessly weave together the actions and backstories of each character in the party. (I have honestly spent hours after each session discussing theories and plot points about the campaign) He also does an amazing job of adapting the campaign's vibe to fit what the players want out of it. I've witnessed him do comedic, chaos-driven campaigns all the way to terrifying, horror-fueled stories. Corey is an incredibly inclusive GM and makes sure that all his players feel comfortable and seen at the table. He is very approachable and will take any concerns or feedback to heart.
