The Dark Lord Employer
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
The world teeters on the edge of chaos, and at the heart of it all stands The Resident, an enigmatic tyrant pulling the strings of fate. To reach them, you’ll have to cut a path through a gauntlet of bizarre and terrifying champions—each more dangerous and unhinged than the last. The Great Hungerer devours all in its path, a writhing, insatiable force of destruction. Warlord Khaargh commands an army of merciless brutes, reveling in carnage. Gary the Lich—yes, Gary—wields unspeakable necromantic power, but his real crime is his unbearable sense of humor. And then there’s Witch-Queen Debbie, whose magic warps reality itself, and whose name alone strikes fear into the hearts of the wise. Surviving them won’t just take strength—it’ll take wit, creativity, and a little bit of sheer dumb luck. Will you outmaneuver Khaargh’s warband, resist the Hungerer’s abyssal maw, and endure Gary’s terrible jokes? Can you unravel Debbie’s mind-bending spells without losing your own sanity? And when the time comes, will you have what it takes to confront The Resident and put an end to their twisted reign? One way or another, the battle ahead will be legendary.
Game style
Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
Dungeon Crawl
A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!
Combat Heavy
“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

How to prepare
You'll need a microphone and filled out character sheet. Everything else you'll need will be clear based on the pre-decided medium of play.
What I provide
I primarily run Theatre of the Mind but can use Roll20 when needed. I offer content sharing on D&D Beyond, blending homebrew and official content for a unique experience. I use character voices, ambient music, and immersive storytelling to bring the world to life. Combat is balanced but often leans toward action unless the group prefers more narrative focus. I mix Rules as Written with Rule of Cool—if you want to try something creative, go for it, and we’ll see how it plays out. Homebrew is welcome, just send it my way for approval. Player choices shape the story, and I’ll work through unexpected decisions narratively. Player conflicts are handled case-by-case to ensure a fun and fair game for everyone. At my table, expect engaging storytelling, thrilling combat, and plenty of chances to shape the world around you.

How will character creation work
D&D Beyond is excellent and FREE! I strongly encourage everyone playing D&D use it, but I will never require it. Starting level for this campaign is 5 and the campaign lasts for six sessions, leveling up at the end of each session. This is a wild, just straight fun campaign so do your normal roll and then re-roll your two lowest until they're equal to or higher than your third lowest. For example: you roll a 15, 13, 12, 12, 10, 10. You'd re-roll the two 10s until they're at least 12s. Let's get these fellas (gender neutral) BEEFY.
