How to prepare

Pick your character from the selection of premade characters. Give them a fun name. Look over and familiarize yourself with your character sheet, which will have all the things unique to your character. Check your webcam and microphone settings. Setup and/or double-check your Discord Settings. Join the Game Discord Server and send me a message so I can add you to the channel specific to this game. Feel free to ask any questions about basic gameplay or DND 5e rules you want in the Discord. Be sure to follow the Discord rules so that you can enjoy the game along with everyone else. If you'd like to use a headset and microphone please test that setup before the session. Get ready to have fun!

What I provide

Virtual Table Top is managed over Discord. We will be using a gridded virtual whiteboard to create the map and I'll have the ability to upload images to represent your characters and the things you'll encounter. (Backup is Theater of the Mind) I embrace the Rule of Cool. Want your character to try something different or a little rules bendy? Tell me what you'd like to do and I'll let you know what to roll for it. I do not tolerate stealing from or attempting to hurt other Player's Characters as this can create strife between Players. This is a completely made-up generic fantasy game setting. There may be a YOHOP (Ye Olde House of Pancakes). There will be silly little signs. Books can be powerful weapons. Watch out for potentially bad very bad voice acting. The NPCs may all end up sounding like Mobsters or very confused Moms but I will make an effort to do a bit of voice acting to help set the scene. Also for scene-setting, there may be low-volume music playing in the background; along with hand-made signs that will be held up for the camera at key points. I will personally be using a headset with a built-in Microphone (the better to hear you with).

Gameplay details

There will be a 15-minute break approximately mid-session. A few shorter breaks may be taken as needed. If you ever need to personally step away please feel free to do so. You can always send me a message on Discord to share that you are stepping away and if you feel comfortable doing so the reason why. Before the session, you will receive a blank RPG Consent Checklist to fill out and return to me; which I will use to help tailor the session. I use lines and veils as guidance on what topics to avoid in the game. Please send me your Lines (hard limits or big nos) and Veils (soft limits or no in-depth description) in a Discord Message before the game so that I can make any necessary adjustments to the game. At the end of the session, you will receive a link where you can provide feedback to me on the session through a Google Survey. This is how I am choosing to do Debreif along with Stars and Wishes. Filling this survey out helps me to improve Sessions going forward and meet individual needs.

How will character creation work

Players will be provided with a selection of premade level 5 characters to choose from before the session. These will be available via a link that is sent after you book the session. Multiple players may pick the same character as each player brings something unique that brings characters to life. All you have to do is pick a character and name them!
