[5E] Delicious in Dungeons and Dragons Asynchronous Play by Post
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
For Generations the Land has been a place of peace and harmony. The Humans and the Halflings were stewards and farmers of the Fields and Meadows, the Elves and Goblins were the gardeners and wardens of the Wood and River, the Dwarves and Orcs mined and shaped the stones of the Hills and Mountains and the Gnomes and Dragonborn were the custodians and builders of the Great Village. The Celestial King and the Infernal Queen kept the balance of Justice in the Chequered Keep and the Law kept the Land quiet and peaceful. But one day the earth shook, and a Cavern, ancient and old opened in the Hills and Mountains, a Barrow of the forgotten dead rose in the Fields and Meadows, a Swamp bloomed where the Wood and River met and in the Great Village, the fountain in the town square drained and cracked, revealing a Staircase in a crumbling Dark Tower. All led to a strange and alien Dungeon below that had held the Powers of Chaos for ages. Now Chaos was unleashed and the Land was changed forever. A generation has passed, treasures and secrets have been discovered below the Land. The path to greatness lies somewhere in the heart of the Dark Tower for those who seek it. Many have taken up the life of Adventure and delve the depths below for Fortune, Fame and Honour. But for others, the new life and regions that have opened up has created opportunities and lifestyles, the Minerals, Flora and Fauna of this alien ecosystem yielding amazing ingredients and components for clothing, building, crafting… and cooking! Join a band of enterprising Adventurers to seek out the secrets of the Dungeon, and perhaps go hunting for the rarest and most delicious ingredients This game is welcome to people of all backgrounds, genders and orientations. My group was on the verge of giving up on our D&D campaign until we came across Northern Dungeons. We had been through two campaigns with two separate GMs that fell apart as we encountered an issue of player voices being dismissed or ignored. We then decided to try one last time and go the professional route in hopes of finding a GM open to collaborating with players to create a world where we could finally tell the stories we had spent years crafting. Our group was very lucky to have come across Nothern Dungeons. Their energy, openness to ideas, and willingness to collaborate and work with their players to create something amazing are the exact qualities we were hoping to find in a GM. We wanted to play a mature game that addresses mature themes. Northern Dungeons has navigated this exceptionally well and has been attentive to our safety and comfort around the table. I'm a player who can go a little overboard with backstory and world-building as part of the creative process. I love to create living, breathing characters with rich histories and ties to the world they live in. It's nice to have a GM who is willing to go above and beyond to get to know the characters I've created and is committed to giving as much justice to them as they can. It has been a joy to play in session and see my characters finally come to life. If you are looking for a GM who is professional, does great voice impressions, and is dedicated to working with players to help them achieve their visions for their characters and the campaign as a whole, I believe Northern Dungeons would be perfect for the job!
one thing i really appreciate is having a vision about my character and having a dm that not only helps me see that vision come true but will also make the vision brighter. they are homebrew friendly and have even made homebrew items, spells, and classes to help fit the vision. they are very descriptive in there story telling and world building. a small thing but something that always stands out is just the detail in some small things like the food a waiter may serve. dont play on a empty stomach you will be hungry lol. all in all if been a great 2 years running our current campaign.
The absolute best DM I have ever had. He has an insane knowledge of the rules, is an incredible story- and world-builder, and is amazing at improvising interactions during play. It is clear he really enjoys working with players to integrate their character into he overall game narrative. Any kind of game you want to play, he will work with you to make it fun and unique. Would recommend for anyone just starting out, or anyone who has been playing for 20+ years.
An amazingly creative GM. I have been playing with this GM for just under 2 years on a weekly schedule. He is both engaging and creative. As a brand new player in 2023 I was, kindly, walked through learning both how to play and the understanding of how to use the online platform. Questions and refreshers with character sheets and rulings are encouraged and supported. the GM has provided and cultivated a safe space for me to expand and grow in my own creativity. My Monday Night game has become a Joy and something I look forward to every week!
Additional details
How to prepare
Please have a decent grasp of English Prose and hopefully enthusiasm for both descriptive paragraphs of images and action, along with a vivid inner life for your characters!
What I provide
Expect daily literate responses, with possibilities for duets and asides that focus on character development and rich descriptions of alien and familiar landscapes within a dreamlike realm of Chaos below the formerly peaceful Land. You'll have access to the full D&D Beyond catalogue and expect reference images to help enhance the text experience.
Gameplay details
Lines and Veils will be established and documented and ooc channels of communication will be used to handle any discussion of sensitive topics. This game should be fairly PG in tone, though the hunting and butchery of fantasy creatures may be present, as well as the risk of death. The other potential for adult content is the potential for romance which can be discussed if the player so chooses and potentially moved into a private channel.
