Orion Sphere Arena
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | One-Shot
About the adventure
You are trapped. There is no getting out. From inside a pocket dimension, within a extra dimensional space, inside a pocket dimension (A God did it. No Bag of holding mishaps.) You find yourself a captive in an arena. You have an implant inside you in a vital part of your species anatomy. It emits a powerful sleep effect upon activation, enough to not only knock you out, but probably those around you too. The implants only activate when people are trying to escape. You have learned it is simply not worth trying. You can earn reputation, gold, and even magic items. Live a life of luxury if you are successful within the Arena. Or live a life of squalor and earn a poor reputation, squander any earnings you get, and never have enough of what you want. The choice is yours! There are two variations that exist within the Arena. There is the Colosseum variant and the Labyrinth. The Labyrinth is a race against the clock to explore as far as possible within the Labyrinth to find the special item the Goddess Cheatess has sent you after. The Colosseum is where you will pit your characters up against tough foes in a large 240ft diameter arena with variant types, Forest, Lava, Ice, Water, Sky, and Desert. Game Details Level Progression 1-20 via Experience Orion Sphere Arena is an ongoing one-shot. So it is not like your traditional one shot. It has about an hour of prep, which includes character fine-tuning, shopping, betting, and pre-fight buffs (if applicable). Then there is about 15 minutes of Meat Mech Maintenance while I prepare the arena or labyrinth. Then there is fighting for 1-10+ rounds (Average 3ish, Time depending). After session you get gold from your bets and experience that carries over to future sessions. First session is more about survival, every subsequent session is more about working towards your gear set and gaining levels. How to prepare
Players should have at least a Discord account and a Microphone. Voice will be done through the Discord MUG Hub Waiting Room community for games. As it is a streamed session, the option to play while on camera exists, but is not mandatory (All Arena sessions are streamed via Twitch). Knowledge of the PHB Rules is a plus, but is not required. A royalty free image of their character is required for any streamed game. I usually recommend artists on Fivver, or perhaps even AI generated artwork. 35 minutes of Need to know information prior to play: [Orion Sphere Arena: Social Contract](https://youtu.be/Qbyf4YKNR5g) [Orion Sphere Arena: House Rules and Clarifications](https://youtu.be/DSQLbfhETYg) [Orion Sphere Arena: Inventory Management](https://youtu.be/wk7R9sYVgL0) [Orion Sphere Arena: NPC Guide](https://youtu.be/xzUF1pz-lu0)
What I provide
I bring to the table the campaign, or in this case, the Arena environment. All of the pre game preparation and professional Dungeon Master style and experience to the combat and puzzle encounters. I bring a wealth of 5e D&D knowledge with which I can craft on the fly encounters if needed.
Gameplay details
We have a publicly posted Social contract that players are expected to adhere to. A copy of the Contract will be posted here. However the House rules and clarifications are still within the original post. As a professional DM, it can be expected that I will run an adventure game in a fun and fair way. The Arena is unlike normal campaigns as there is little to no actual story involved. All the creatures have altered statistics as well, using a random table to determine their buffs/debuffs. Rule of Yes. In the world of Improv, they use a thing called the "rule of yes". Which is a guideline to help individuals keep an impromptu story flowing. It basically means to agree with an improvisational suggestion, and then build on it. As long as the suggestion does not starkly contrast your characters ideals of course. Respect goes four ways. From you to your fellow players. From your fellow players to you. From you to the Game Master. From the Game Master to you. We can show one another respect by listening to one another, supporting each other, and doing what we can to promote a fun and flowing story for eachother. Punctuality can be expected from the DM to the table for sure. But this goes both ways. The players are also expected to be on time for a session they have agreed to attend. Otherwise adjustments to the planned encounters, story and combat, likely become necessary, and it inconveniences everyone else involved. Life comes first. While punctuality is important. It is known and understood that life throws a curve ball every now and again. Should this happen, it would be appropriate to give as much notice as you are capable of giving that you will not be attending the next session. Limited topics. Any real world racial, gender, or spiritual discrimination is not acceptable, nor tolerated. Some examples of things expressed as lines that cannot be crossed include Child harm, Rape, Suicide, and pedophilia.

How will character creation work
Character creation can happen up to 30 minutes prior to a session, or even at the start of session, or you can create a character during an active session for the arena that you are not actively playing in if you like, as long as you are respectful of the other players experience. As it is an arena environment, it is a great place to test character concepts you might have.
