Deep dive into the lost Mine
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
session 0 and first sessions free. The lost mine of Phandelver is an exciting short campaign from levels 1-5. Perfect for players new to the game, With my own unique twist on the adventure it will be a new and exciting experience for new players and veterans alike. The adventure will help teach new players the 3 pillars of D&D (exploration, combat, social.). and get everyone roleplaying. In eons past a clan of dwarves and a clan gnomes came together to build a great mine the bargin was called the pact of phandelver. As the mine grew so did the prosperity of the dwarves and gnomes. The mine had powerful arcane currents and together the leaders of phandelvers mine created the spell forged, a mighty forge for crafting powerful arcane artifacts. As the mine grew so did the small surface town near by named Phandalin. Until one fateful day when a horde of orcs came to take over the mine. The towns people banded together with their friends in the mine to fend off the horde but it was futile. The ensuing battle destroyed the wave echo cave that housed the great spell forge. Countless year later and many have tried to uncover the lost mine's location to no avail, the town of Phandalan fell into anonymity as the draw of the mines was faded. Now a group of dwarven brothers, the Rockseeks think they have uncovered the wave echo cave, and have called for help from an old friend. (You) a party member received a letter from Gundren Rockseeker asking for them to join him and his brother in the town of Phandalin. Little does anyone know but in the shadows lurks a spider eager to take the wave echo cave and seize the spell forge for his own nefarious purposes. Can you survive the lost mine of phandelver and emerge heroes of the realm with riches beyond imagination. We will start our campaign with the reading of the letter as the party heads down the road to Phandalin.

I’ve had the pleasure of playing in a homebrew D&D campaign with Alex as the Dungeon Master, and I can confidently say he’s one of the best DMs I’ve encountered. His storytelling ability is top-notch, weaving immersive narratives that keep everyone engaged while leaving plenty of room for player creativity. Alex has a natural talent for balancing detailed world-building with the unpredictable chaos of a D&D session, ensuring that every moment feels meaningful and fun. What truly sets Alex apart is his flexibility. He has a remarkable ability to adapt to the group’s preferences, creating a fun, casual atmosphere without sacrificing the depth of the story. Whether it’s making space for silly character antics or pivoting the plot based on unexpected player decisions, Alex ensures that everyone feels included and valued in the campaign. If you’re looking for a DM who can bring your D&D sessions to life with engaging storytelling and a laid-back, fun vibe, Alex is the one to call. I’m grateful to have experienced his campaigns and can’t wait to see where his stories take us next!
This campaign is a brilliant blend of epic battles, cunning plots, and lol moments thanks to Alex’s personality. Our DM deserves kudos for turning what could have been a typical villain encounter into an entertaining comedy goldmine. I can’t wait to see what surprises lie ahead with Vladin.
This is a friend of a friend that I hadn't truly gotten to know until our first session. This was my second campaign I had been apart of and it was an absolute treat. Alex was knowledgeable and accommodating to all 6 players about skills and options available throughout the campaign. He not only had a laid out plan for everything but took the time to write new possibilities for variations created by the players. Everything felt in world and cannon. Also he does fun voices 👍

How to prepare
Players should have accounts discord, d&d beyond. Players should join d&d beyond campaign and discord server before session 0 and players should come to session 0 with at least a character concept. Players should have a working mic, a webcam id optional but preferred.
What I provide
Besides the more the half decade of experience playing and DMing I'll also be bringing my d&d beyond account with a campaign with several books shared for character creation. I'll be using owlbear rodeo for maps. I do use music bots on my discord server for ambiance. my style of DMing focuses of shared storytelling. I do enjoy all aspects of the game and try to use each pillars equally (combat, exploration, social) though after I get to know my players more I try and gear the sessions towards their interests. I aim for interesting encounters in all pillars, and I try to make sure that multiple outcomes are possible in any encounter so i can leave the resolution of the encounter to players and their dice rolls. I do tend to lean towards deadlier combats at the table which require good teamwork and tactics. I usually stick to Rules as written though I love epic moments for PC's so I will bend the rules for sake of cool moment.
Gameplay details
I will be hosting a session 0, during this session we will discuss both mine and player expectation for the campaign, as well as cover topics that will be considered taboo and avoided. towards the end of our session 0 we will work on character creation and another troubleshooting to make sure everyone is ready to play. I will implement 1-2 breaks per session depending on session length and player input. I also have an open table policy if a player needs to step away or pause a scene that is acceptable, and they can come back when ready no issues. Though this is perfectly fine I don't expect it to come up as I do my best to avoid any situation that could make someone that uncomfortable. Lastly I'll be asking plays to participate in a stars and wishes after each session so I can get some feedback about how each session and our campaign is going.

How will character creation work
Character creation will be done in D&D beyond, I have a link to join my D&D beyond campaign where I share access to several source books I own that players can use for character creation. I ask players to bring a character concept at a minimum to session 0 but they are welcome to make their character in advance of session 0. After pre-game information has been discussed we will work together to finalizing characters. For this campaign we will be starting at level 1 and using the standard array for stats.
