About the adventure
Tyrant's Grasp is an Adventure Path converted to Pathfinder 2e, taking survivors from level 1 to 18. You'll face the true horror of the Whispering Tyrant, uncover secrets of cosmic importance, and risk everything - all in the hopes of buying Golarion the time it desperately needs to stand against this insidious threat. Nearly nine hundred years ago, the lich lord Tar-Baphon was finally defeated by the brave heroes of the Shining Crusade. Unable to ever truly die, he was locked away beneath his fortress, Gallowspire, behind a series of impenetrable magical seals. The Shining Crusade founded the nation of Lastwall and tasked the glorious Knights of Ozem with ensuring Tar-Baphon remained imprisoned forever. Today, life in Lastwall isn't easy, but its people shoulder their burdens with pride. Roslar's Coffer is one of many rustic villages dotting the idyllic landscape. The fine, hardy folk who live here have persevered through every struggle they've faced, because they know the Knights of Ozem will always come through for them. They're wrong. Tar-Baphon is stirring in his prison. He has been stirring for a long while. Now, he is ready to burst free of his shackles. His machinations are already underway, and Roslar's Coffer has no idea the grave danger it is in. The Whispering Tyrant's assault on your village was the most important day of your life. For him, it was just a Toilday.

About me
I've wanted to explore other worlds for as long as I've been able to speak and read. When a family friend placed a D&D manual in my tiny hands, they doomed me to a life spent in those other worlds. I don't regret a single moment spent there. I've been playing TTRPGs regularly for over twenty years now (more than half of them as an adult!), and have never gotten tired of it. Whether it's inhabiting the role of a character unlike myself or facilitating a world for other characters to trailblaze, I just can't get enough of this form of storytelling. One of my favorite parts of this hobby is watching how different people react to the circumstances of these worlds. That's why I love GMing so much - I can't wait to be surprised!

Creating your character
Characters begin at level 1. Each player will create a character independently, but will be able to discuss their plans with the other players in our Discord server. You will be given access to the Tyrant's Grasp Player's Guide - along with information about converted mechanics - which will help to inform your decisions. It's best to play a character who will get along well with a team - avoid lone wolves or sadistic evildoers! Ideally, you will want to be a character who calls the village of Roslar's Coffer home. I will be available to anybody who needs help making their character. Your character sheet will be kept with FoundryVTT. If you've never played Pathfinder 2E and don't know how to make a character, fret not - I will have pregenerated characters available that you may use for as long as you wish. I will also assist you in making your own character and teach you the basics of the Pathfinder 2nd Edition Roleplaying Game.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Every player will require a microphone. We'll be communicating via Discord for this campaign. We will play via FoundryVTT, which can be accessed via your web browser at no additional cost to you. If you have never used Foundry before, I will be happy to show you the ropes! Please seek out an image to represent your character - you can draw it yourself, find something online, commission an artist, etc. We'll use this image to represent you in the VTT, so be sure to pick something you'll be happy looking at for a long time! If you can't find anything, you can let me know and I will be happy to help the search.
What Simon Magnus brings to the table
I will provide FoundryVTT and all elements surrounding its use. I will be available outside of session hours to help with character creation. I will provide access to our Discord server. This will be home to our voice channel, as well as a text channel for use in our game.

How Simon Magnus creates a safe table
My goal is to provide a safe, welcoming table for people of all identities. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns about content. I am happy to keep our conversations anonymous. This table does not tolerate hate speech or harassment towards other players. This campaign will feature a session 0 to set our expectations, as well as post-mortems after each session where you'll be able to voice any concerns, ideas, or other thoughts to the rest of the party. I aim to provide a fair, consistent game based on the Pathfinder 2e ruleset. You can expect to undergo some terrifying struggles in your quest to stop the Whispering Tyrant, so steel your resolve! My hope is that you'll never feel like I pushed the scales in either direction - the outcome of your adventures will depend on your own tactics, thinking, and the luck of the dice.
