Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus | New Campaign

Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus | New Campaign

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

Descent into Avernus will take players into the first layer of the nine hells. Beginning in Baldur's Gate, this campaign starts things off quite fast as a cataclysmic event rocks the face of the Sword Coast. Fight against Devils, their evil influence, and the monstrosities at their disposal as you charge bravely into Avernus. Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus is a Dungeons & Dragons adventure that ends in Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells. By design, the Nine Hells is a place of misery and suffering. This adventure has a few scenes that are graphic in their portrayal of such suffering. From the book itself: "FORGE YOUR FATE IN HELLFIRE! Diabolical dangers await in this adventure for the world’s greatest roleplaying game. Welcome to Baldur's Gate, a city of ambition and corruption. You’ve just started your adventuring career, but already find yourself embroiled in a plot that sprawls from the shadows of Baldur's Gate to the front lines of the planes-spanning Blood War! Do you have what it takes to turn infernal war machines and nefarious contracts against the archdevil Zariel and her diabolical hordes? And can you ever hope to find your way home safely when pitted against the infinite evils of the Nine Hells? This heroic Dungeons & Dragons adventure book takes players from levels 1 to 13 as they journey through Baldur's Gate and into Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells. Baldur's Gate is among the most iconic locations in fantasy culture. A mist-cloaked metropolis on the Sword Coast, it’s a place of history and a home to heroes. The book introduces the infernal war machines to fifth edition D&D—battle-ready vehicles, which you can customize as you blast off into the Blood War. Dungeon Masters will entice their heroes with devils' deals, designed to lure adventurers with the ultimate temptations of power and treasure."

Allan is such an incredible and knowledgeable DM! Played through the entire campaign of Descent Into Avernus from start to finish, and what an amazing experience it truly was! I can't recommend him enough, he's very friendly and creative. I just started another campaign that he's running, and look forward to many more sessions of highly-immersive D&D role-playing, along with some very challenging tactical battles! Not many DMs leave their players consistently feeling a sense of accomplishment after overcoming any battle, hurdle, or scenario, but Allan is a wonderful exception. A gifted maestro, I am so thrilled to continue gaming on with him, and encourage both veterans and curious newcomers to give his games a chance. You won't be disappointed!

At present I have had two great sessions with Allan! Just started my first campaign with him as our GM and very excited for the rest of the adventure. Allan’s visuals, background music and character voices really make an immersive experience for the players. He is inclusive and very helpful to new players like myself. He takes time to answer any questions and nuances. HIGHLY recommend :)

Allan does a great job immersing you into the setting and game. He also has a vast knowledge of the game rules and makes it very easy for beginners or experienced players alike to pop right in and get going. He keeps it very fun and exciting, never knowing if the next encounter will be your characters last or if they will prevail!

My favorite DM so far since I’ve been playing D&D. Excellent story teller. He is very good at moving the story along at a good pace and setting a awesome scene! Has great visuals and maps. I prefer maps and cool visuals. He definitely provides this. 100% recommend to and D&D player new or old!

Allan does a great job of balancing the group chatter and getting to know you/catch-up talks and game play. Play conforms to our group's style (less RP, more tactics), but Allan's enthusiasm for story and character make it clear he'd be just as adept GMing for a group that's RP heavy. Great sessions. Will definitely join one of his games again.
