About me

I've been DMing and playing for 30+ years. The first game I ever learned to play was a gamed called Bushido, and the first system I learned to run was L5R 1e, followed by AD&D 2e. I continued through with 3e and while I have ran multiple other systems, D&D was always my "home" system. I want to provide as much visual and audio immersion as I can, but I'm not an artistic person. VTT's are perfect for me to provide the kind of visual experience I want and I have found that Foundry has been the best suited to do so for me thus far. I came to enjoy running Pathfinder 2e a lot a few years ago. I stepped away from it and chose to run 5e out of convenience and at the time, my group wasn't enjoying PF2e. I've recently come back to it, and it's been a blast. It is now my primary system, and I am also enjoying working with the Starfinder 2e playtest material.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will need to be made on your own on pathbuilder2e.com. There are some restrictions. • Ancestries: Dwarf, Elf, and Goblin are allowed from PF2e Player Core. I will review ancestries from Galaxy Guide, but I like to keep ancestries to the less "weird" ones. Borathu, for example, are not allowed. • Classes: SF2e Player Core classes as well as the Technomancer and Mechanic playtest are allowed. • I use Gradual Ability Boost as a variant rule, but no others (ie no Free Archetype or Ancestry Paragon). If you have questions I am always here to help. You'll submit your character to me for me to look over and then I will input it into Foundry. From there on, you'll update inside of Foundry.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You'll need a discord account (i will send you an invite link). We use that for voice chat. webcams are not required, but you are welcome to use one within discord if you so choose.

What Hellequin brings to the table

I host my servers directly via my PC. I'm open to players providing their own token art, so long as its appropriate to the setting. I set the token frame myself, so as a way for me to keep track of certain things during the course of the game. I try to utilize ambient music to set the mood where applicable. I also work hard to make sure visuals (such as maps, lighting, etc) are effective to give the players the information they should have and need. I do not use Theater of the Mind, especially in a game where combat is as tactical as it is in this system.

Safety

How Hellequin creates a safe table

We'll take a break midway through the session, but if at anytime you need to take a bio or grab a drink/snack, I use a module to give a notice to the rest of the group that you are stepping away.
