About the adventure

Welcome to Dragonbane, a lightweight fantasy RPG! Survive in the lands beyond the Veil, engage in quick and tactical combat, discover lost artifacts, explore an open world via hex-crawl, and reclaim the lost world of Karanthi! You are a ranger of the Veil. It is your duty to protect the borderlands that surround Mount Yriel. Over the last year, when scouting the Veil and the mists inside, you have begun to encounter extremely dangerous and strange monsters. More than a few times you have barely survived those encounters. You have heard from others that Rangers have been disappearing in the mists. This is not uncommon. What is unusual is the high number that have gone missing. They are presumed dead. You make the difficult choice to abandon your post and go looking for answers in the sacred libraries of Mount Yriel to try to understand whether these encounters have occurred before. _________________________________________________________ Your soggy boots squelch with each footstep and your soaked cloak hangs heavy on your back. You look up into the falling droplets of water to gaze at the final point in your destination. Far into the distance, past the murky swamps of the borderlands and through the ceaseless rains lies Mount Yriel; the sole landmark that stands above twisting vines and swirling waters. Looming over the monolithic mountain is the shattered moon; a physical manifestation of the Goddess Yriel. She hangs like a pale marble with the bottom half suspended in the slow act of breaking apart. On this starless world, she alone provides for the ones below. Her blessing is the dull light. Her protection is the Veil of mist encompassing the borderlands which surrounds the mountain. Those who would dare to leave her domain are doomed to never return, for beyond the Veil lies countless horrors.

About me

Hello! My name is Ryan, but you can call me Twig. I will be your dedicated Game Master for hire, and I am honored to act as a facilitator for the stories that you want to tell. Ever since I was young, I have loved getting lost in the realms of fantasy and science fiction. From the epic tales of Drizzt Do'Urden in the Forgotten Realms, to the gritty post human questions of Blade Runner, you find a wide range of topics and settings to explore with me as your Game Master. With a college degree that specialized in game design, I delight in going outside the bounds of the various systems I have run to give you distinctive mechanics, items, and powers for your characters. Whether you are an experienced player or dipping your toes into the hobby, your unique ideas will be brought to life. As a writer, I pride myself on crafting open ended scenarios that give you the freedom to explore the world as you see fit. My focus as a GM is to emphasize player interaction and and the consequences. Your actions matter and will affect the narrative in unforeseen ways. That collective chaos is what makes these games special. So, join me in this collaborative effort to conjure into being worlds of our design.

Great GM, he did world immersion, pre planning, NPCs with there own personalities, voices, helping with character building, random events to bring the world alive, and one hell of a check on the reality that life in night city is hard..

Played 14 sessions

Played Twilight 2k, and it was a perfect blend of relaxed attitude around "the table" and edge-of-your seat tension in the game. Solid scene setting and character interactions.

Ryan is awesome! Very creative and can handle a little spontaneous improve from the players. He knows how to coach new players into their first game with ease, even if you didn’t read the Rules like we did. BUT READ THE RULES Ryan Shows great patience when you’re trying to find your bearings and will drop little hints as when you’re stuck. His world has been well detailed without becoming overwhelming, leaving your imagination to fill the blanks. Ryan is excellent and such a joy to be around in and outside his Dungeon

Ryan has years of experience in multitudes of game systems such as 5E, Cyberpunk, Pathfinder, and many others. He’s extremely detail oriented and also knows how to implement the “rule of cool” of better game flow.

Ryan made it super fun, let us really get creative with our backstories and use our abilities flexibly. Did voices for all NPCs as well.

I’ve known Ryan for quite awhile and we’ve played in multiple campaigns together. He has GM’d a couple campaigns for me and ran multiple one shots. My most memorable campaign was Storm Kings Thunder where we traveled across the sword coast searching for clues. (No Spoilers!) I think he did a great job adapting to our party’s antics and tomfoolery while still keeping a sense of realism and consequences if we strayed too far. It’s always a pleasure to hear when he has a oneshot to run or has an idea for a new campaign or TTRPG system he wants to try out. He has extensive experience with D&D5e and PF2e and a few others.
