About the adventure
Aye... Yes, you've heard the tales too, haven't you? About the fog. About the ravens... Yes, don't lie, I see it in your eyes. You've seen it in your dreams. That crooked dirt road flanked by twisted trees and twisted people, things in the forest... and that castle. I've seen it too. It beckons you, whispers out to you. Calls you into its shadows. It means the veil between our realm and their's grows thin once more. Soon the mists will curl out, and collect another batch of souls to drag into its confines. I've seen it. It's happened here more than once in my lifetime. People just... walking into nothingness. Not just here, the fog goes where it pleases... People from a dozen worlds and a dozen realms, all brought to that wretched place... Barovia. Aye, Barovia. Wont find it on any map, wont find any old scholar who knows its history, its a land that's been lost to time, and maybe its better that way. But evil is never known to stay quiet. It makes sure it's remembered. Like a ghost, it flits in and out, in and out. But the ghosts aren't what you should be worrying about. Nor the undead shambling in the woods. You should worry about the Lord, his pet dogs, and some of the nastier folk who call that place home. Desperation drives men to do mad things, and that place is a monument to it. Desperation, broken dreams, and lost things of all kinds. Won't be long now. The mists will come, they'll claim more. Maybe you'll make a difference. Maybe you won't. But I get the feeling that there's something special about you lot, and maybe, just maybe, you'll be the ones who break that damnable curse upon that damnable land..... Hail, weary adventurers! This is my homebrewed version of the ever-so-famed Curse of Strahd module, written by Wizards of the Coast, for the world's greatest roleplaying game! Hey ladies and gents! If you’re reading this, then you’re probably considering me as your next Dungeon Master. I really appreciate your consideration and will give my all to give you the best experience possible! So, without further delay, I'm Todd or Wereraven! I’ve been playing D&D 5e for 5 years now, and have been the DM for 4 years of that. I’ve DMed all experiences from newcomers to older veterans alike. I encourage role play above all else, but don't force people out of their comfort zones. I love to tie backgrounds and PC interests into the main storyline an add my own homebrew flair where appropriate! I am not a rule encyclopedia and I love rolling with the "Rule of Cool" where it fits and enhances the plot and setting without breaking the game and mechanics. About Your Character: 🐦⬛ 2024 ruleset 🐦⬛ Classes, feature and backgrounds will included Expanded Sources from years of old 🐦⬛ No Blood Hunters, no Artificers 🐦⬛ Start as Level 1 Adventurer 🐦⬛ Modified Point Buy for ABI Score Attribution 🐦⬛ Gold Buy for gear acquisition (rations, waterskin, sleeping gear excluded from the purchases, they will come standard) 🐦⬛ We will not track food consumption unless voted to do so 🐦⬛ We will not track ammo 🐦⬛ We will use a crafting system for potion and alchemical creations 🐦⬛ We will use Lingering Wounds which is provided in my Discord
