About the adventure
Only have a few hours to play? Need something that's easy to jump into with only a little prep? Dive into this homebrew adventure for 5th level players featuring a flying castle, flying mounts, and a mysterious crime against high magic! Pre-generated characters are available from the DM for those who need them (though prepping one yourself ahead of time is very welcome). THE BASICS: 1] RULES: D&D 5E, new 2024 rules OK, 2014 rules OK too. 2] ALIGNMENTS: Good & Neutral aligned Player Characters 3] BOOKS: If you wish to use options from specific D&D books that might not be allowed, message me in advance and I'll see if your preference is or can be made compatible with this game. 4] CHRACTER SHEETS: Join my campaign and set your characters up on D&D Beyond using either Legacy or new rules using this link: https://www.dndbeyond.com/campaigns/join/62828531874659301 THE STORY: Your 5th-level characters find themselves unwillingly (or was it unwittingly) transported to a far-away realm with which they are utterly unfamiliar. Broke and confused, as the PCs sort out what's happening around them, an opportunity suddenly arises to earn some serious coin! Did I mention the potentially fatal dangers inherent in this opportunity? I'm sure your party's skills are more than a match for ... well, I'll keep the details to myself for now. ;) THE PARTY: Focus on balance, and you'll be on the right track. Be sure to pack some punch, the crackle of spell-casting, some meaningful healing capacity (yes, some of this is gonna hurt), and a goodly measure of stealth! Add in a little something special of your own, and I'm sure your party will more than rise to the occasion! ENVIRONMENTS: On the ground, in the air, over water (but not under it), a wide potential range of temperatures, open ground to mountainous terrain, and a possible underground lair or two. ENEMY MOTIVATIONS: Your enemies are greedy in the extreme, with a particular lust for one certain kind of treasure.

How to prepare
1) CHARACTER: Whenever possible try to generate a character of the specified level prior to game time, as this will increase the amount of time we get to spend on playing. 2) MUNCHIES: Have your drinks and snacks ready ahead of time ... same reason, more time to play. (If you forget, it isn't a problem, just less play time.) 3) DICE: Have your dice (real or virtual) ready to go. 4) CHARACTER LINKED: Make sure your character is connected to the campaign via the link I'll provide. 5) QUESTIONS: Send me any questions you have about the session at least a few hours before game time, if possible.
What I provide
MY BACKGROUND: As a GM, I've run over 600 RPG sessions, over 500 of which were D&D 5e, over half of which was homebrew content. I am also the author of D&D Adventurers League module 09-03 Hungry Shadows, and I was a contributing writer for the book Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus (doin' mom and dad proud, writing all about hell). SESSION ZERO TIME: As your Adventure Writer and GM, my primary goal is to make sure everyone has a great time, including me! I recognize that every group is different and that their preferences also vary, so we'll spend a little time upfront discussing the group's preferences before diving into the story, so I can make adjustments that enhance everyone's fun. VIRTUAL/REMOTE PLAY: I use D&D Beyond and grant all player characters assigned to my campaign full access to all relevant materials. I also provide custom story content, original art (my own) and AI-generated images (synthesized by me) highlighting NPCs, locations, and items, along with lots and lots of detailed big and small maps, as well as PDF post-game session notes for every episode. Video recordings may be available if the group is open to it. PLAY STYLE: I like to keep the story, the action, and opportunities for character expression working together throughout our sessions. I won't drop you in a perilous situation and just sit back and wait for you to figure it out, nor will I hold your hand and guide you through a single-path adventure. I thrive on presenting you with situations you'll enjoy figuring out and challenges you'll enjoy rising to meet. You and your fellow players will definitely have a voice in how the story turns out! FOCUS ON FUN: I try to stay as familiar with D&D rules as possible, and I will certainly use them to guide our play, but when it comes to gray areas in the rules, I'm much more likely to favor what's fun for the party over the letter of the rules ... just as the games designers had in mind. When in doubt, ask the DM. Anything's possible! ROLE PLAY & VOICES I love doing a wide range of compelling NPC voices and sound effects, but if you happen to be a group that prefers that I don't do that, and/or you don't want to do that yourselves, I'm totally OK either way. Just let me know what you prefer. I've played in a wide range of role-play/voice environments, from none-at-all to boisterous, and I'm comfortable adjusting my style to what works best for each group. QUESTIONS? Just shoot me a message, and I'll do my best to answer any questions you may have.
Gameplay details
The use of the various safety tools listed will be worked out with the group during Session Zero to best suit the preferences of the group while always maintaining a fun and safe play environment. I prefer a very open approach to safety so that everyone feels comfortable at all times. It's our game, so let's work together to make 100% sure we're all having a great time! NOTE - Assume we'll take one 10 minute break (longer if needed) half way through the session.

How will character creation work
My Quick D&D sessions feature either A) Characters you bring to the game already created (I'll check them pre-game to make sure they won't break the story), b) Pre-gen characters provided by me, or c) Characters created quickly using D&D Beyond's Random character builder which speeds the time for creating new characters. If you want to leverage Option C, we'll need to connect on my Discord at least 1 hour before game time to make sure you have time to spin up your character with me available to answer any questions. When in doubt, send me a message with your questions any time.
