Creating your character
ill be using a roll 5d6 and take the highest 3, which will be rolled in roll20 or in discord with a dice roller. we start at level 1. As for classes, all published are good Species, no monstrous species, exotic species i would like a backstory as to where you came from.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
discord and a decent quality mic for voice chat, roll20 account. and character creation is done before the first session but I also like to be a part of that process, in the manner of making sure the character has a reason to be in that moment of the campaign beginning.
What Matt brings to the table
I use Roll20, and I have the vast majority of character options unlocked for character creation. I do attempt some voices but I'm no voice actor so not everyone gets a voice. I do use a voice changer for appropriate creatures and shock value. I'm pretty open to rules interpretations in a bend the rules, not break the rules mindset.

How Matt creates a safe table
We play DnD to have fun. And of course, some games have heavy topics. Curse of Strahd is no different, it has plenty of topics in the story that can cause stress in the players. My rule is if something is going or has gone past someone's point of comfort, we stop. Either a full stop or a pause and we relax and work through it. I'll always run a session zero with a lead-up little adventure to get the group together, but also to go over the house rules I use, and my expectations for my players and find out what their expectations are for me.
