About the adventure

Brand new level 1-13 adventure for D&D 5th Edition (2014 version.) We will be using no rule changes from the new 2024 edition. Fifteen years ago, Drakkenheim was destroyed by an eldritch storm of falling stars. Now the city is a dismal urban wasteland contaminated by otherworldly magic and haunted by hideous monsters. Personal quests, tantalizing rumors and lightweight urban exploration mechanics allow player characters to experience the ruins in a nonlinear and open-ended fashion. Five factions vie for power around the mist-wreathed ruins of Drakkenheim, but who will you end up fighting for? This campaign focuses on exploration, interaction with the factions, and ruthless combat encounters. We play the game RAW but you are welcome to use 3rd party character options with approval by the GM. Drakkenheim is a unique setting with restrictions regarding resting and teleportation magic. When traveling inside the ruins you cannot teleport, scry, or take a long rest. We will also be playing with the 'flanking" variant rule to ensure the world feels as deadly as possible; • Flanking. Both players and enemies can flank their foes to gain advantage on melee attacks. This makes melee combat more deadly for everybody involved. Game details: • Animated spells & weather effects. • High-resolution maps and tokens. • Voice acting for NPCs. • Ambient soundscapes and music. • Hosted on Roll20 for gameplay, Discord for voice chat. Webcam optional. • Standard D&D 5e ruleset. • Deep and interactive environment with lots of sandbox gameplay potential. • Discord used to chat with group members in between sessions. • Newcomers are welcome to join at any point during the adventure. • Roll20 compendium access to most books.

About me

Stop worrying about schedule issues, and start having fun! This tabletop community is LGBTQ+ friendly and supportive. I have a BA in creative writing and worked as a professional writer for years before committing to being a full-time Game Master. Running fun games is my passion, and I love to immerse myself in the lore of the worlds we inhabit together. I offer a premium experience with animations, high-resolution maps, voice acting, and a committed GM who takes the time to integrate your character into the world. I am generally a rules-as-written GM but I love to reward creative solutions and problem solving. You can expect that I will stick to the rulebook, especially in a combat scenario. I take a hard stance against generative A.I. for in-game content. Some game listings may use generated art, but all stories and encounters are personally designed by me without the assistance of A.I. prompts.
