About the adventure
Have you ever wanted to play a D&D game where the peak of civilization is a small village in the middle of nowhere? Want to play a campaign where you travers untamed lands, fighting to survive in the wild, and face off against the elements. Well, let me tell you a story. The land of Corvon, on the world of Veil, is known for one thing above all else, those that seek adventure. Great plains, bustling cities, and monsters of all kinds; Corvon has seen it all. But with the times changing with new Arcane Invitations bring magic into the common place, the people are seeking a new adventure. Enter the Northern Wilds, the untamed lands north of Corvon. A land with no kingdoms, governments, or crime. A land rich for the taking. With a job offer to escort a scholar into the wilds, with the promise to keep any treasure or land you claim, how can you pass this up? But is something else going on? Why does this scholar really need escorts? Maybe what he really needs are heroes. This campaign will travel the Northern Wilds; a land of high frozen mountains, massive forests, endless plains, and strange creatures. In a race against another group for a mystical and ancient artifact that can change the world.

About me
Hey, I'm Gonzo. Dungeons Master and YouTuber at 63rdLegion Gaming, where I spend a lot of time talking about Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer 40K (though more D&D than anything). I love story telling, and its probably why I have written and ran so many campaigns in a short period of time (since 2018 I've hosted 8 campaigns). I've quickly learned on the spot to adapt to different player types and needs, and have hosted a game as large as 13 player for several weeks (never again lol). My games mix a wide array of story types, such as; Dark Fantasy, Horror, Steam Punk, Arcane Punk, Gothic, Dystopia, Chanbara (samurai stories), and Muppet... yes, I said Muppet. As as my name suggests, I always throwing in a little chaos (I've ran a game that gave the players 2 Decks of Many Things) and love a good twist that so far none of players have seen coming in any of my games. All my games (regardless of style) are always stories that see my world transform before the players eyes as they interact with it (3 of my campaigns that ran simultaneously, altered and fed into each other), and travel through it. I love stories that allow the players to explore their characters and grow them into who they want them to be; regardless of if they want to be hero or villain, and love working with players to forge their characters. Right now I'm only playing D&D 5E and Labyrinth the Adventure Game, but I know other systems and will be adding them as I write stories for them.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Character creation will be random generation for stats; 4D6 to determine each stat. All classes (including Artificer and Blood Hunter) are allowed, and all subclasses are also allowed. If the subclass (or class) has not been updated for the new edition (D&D5.5E or D&D 2024, whatever you wish to call it), I will help update it (these include subclasses from Xanathar's Guide, Tasha's Cauldron, and more). All character creation rules from the Player's Handbook will be in effect (origin feat, background skills, and starting gear). For character backstories, these are not required, but if you wish to have one I will provide you information about my world to help you make it more to your liking.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
All that is needed for this game is a mic, a discord account, dice, a character, and a desire for fun. I will help create characters in any way I can, including advice and character sheets (both printable and Fillable PDF), and will be availed to answer any questions that are brought up prior to sessions and during sessions.
What Gonzo brings to the table
I will be bringing to the table all current D&D books; as well as many third party companies, such as Kobold Press. My DMing style can be a bit different then most would expect. I am not Rule of Cool or Rules as Written; but instead prefer to try and be fluid and responsive to the game as it moves. I follow the rules, but offer new homebrew rules to change up dynamics (like a new initiative system that changes combat, as well as unique skill check system). I'm always trying to improve my games to suit the players at my "table" to ensure fun and fairness. As I also lean more towards Dark Fantasy and Arcane Punk, my settings can be very different and unique, such as allowing Artificers to craft some amazing things.

How Gonzo creates a safe table
Prior to the campaign and session 0, I would like to talk to different players about their hard no's, and things that may be harmful to their mental health. As well as develop way to communicate discomfort should they not feel comfortable with opening up to the group if something happens. Regardless I do not tolerate any use of racism, sexism, classism, or any theme of a extreme nature that include threats of any kind. I believe in creating an open environment where players can grow and enjoy themselves, and will not allow any players to ruin it for anyone else. Games are meant to be fun and shared.
