High Fantasy Homebrew Adventures!
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
A High Fantasy Setting and Story, The Setting is fairly close to The Forgotten Realms but with some influence from Dwarf Fortress especially when it comes to various fantasy species. My current plan for the story involves stopping a mysterious and powerful entity from reconstructing the world for his own purposes, so basically your standard fantasy adventure. I plan to start at low levels, 3 or less, and work our way up to somewhere in the mid teens, 12-18. It's all very loose right now as i like to tailor campaigns to my party's interests. New players are welcome.
Game style
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

How to prepare
You will need a discord account and a passable mic, you'll want a computer of some kind to run whatever VTT we decide to use, but it will be a free one unless otherwise agreed. you can create you character ahead of time if you want. I don't care if you roll physical dice or use virtual ones, I trust you not to cheat.
What I provide
As this will be my first Professional DMing experience I'll be open to suggestion, but I plan on running this campaign on Discord and/or one of the free Virtual Tabletops. (ie: Owlbear Rodeo, Roll20, D&D Beyond, etc) I plan on playing a fairly lighthearted and fun game, with some mystery elements, following a fairly generic "stop the evil guy" type of plot. my favorite part of TTRPGs is Interesting character interactions so I plan on portraying a host of characters, however I don't do much in the way of voices, mostly little alterations to my own voice and vocabulary. I plan on having fairly frequent combat (at least every other session if not every one) but i very much operate with rule of cool in mind. no rules are set in stone, everything is up to change if it makes the game more fun. Some of the combats may be deadly, but there will be access to resurrection, and you can retire and switch your character at any time. I will likely put on some kind of ambient music and combat music to fit the scene. Some scenes may have description of gore or brutality, but if that makes anyone uncomfortable it can be minimized. I do not allow sexual content, do not be flirting with me or any npcs or players.
Gameplay details
I plan on meeting with the players individually to go over expectations, and Lines and Veils. then a Session 0 to confirm and discuss expectations (Lines and Veils, Game Expectations, Character Info, etc.), open door policy, and game/break details. after each session I plan on quickly debriefing the group, then I'm open to doing any individually debriefing or Lines and Veils conversations at any point.

How will character creation work
You can create you character beforehand but I will need to know any important backstory points or character development beats you want to hit. I don't mind if you want to keep a secret from the other players but i will need to know it. alternatively you can create a character individually with me or in session 0, this would work best if you want backstory suggestions or a back story that fits better with the plot. I will try to tie all character backstories into the game somehow to make it feel more personal and real. I plan on running this with 2014 5e rules but if all the players are okay with it then we can use some or all of the 2024 books. I would like to start at level 1 but if you would like to start a little higher level to access your features sooner then we can discuss it with the other players. please do not roll for stats, it tends to result in unbalanced characters, but otherwise any options for getting stats in the books it okay. all playable races are on the menu but keep in mind that the fantasy races (elf, dwarf, etc) may be more elfy or dwarfy then you might be used to. there may also be some amount of racism between these groups but it won't affect your gameplay too much. (you wont be killed for being the wrong race) if you decide to play one of the more outlandish races, (Minotaur, Triton, Tabaxi, etc) we may need to work together a bit to develop their culture and location in this world. any homebrew needs to be run through me and okayed by the other players as well.
