About the adventure
🛑 ADVENTURER! The town of Otari needs your help! 🛑 You have been hired as a capable hand to help investigate mysterious events happening in the small seaside town of Otari. Various misfortunes have befallen the citizens, and the town criers belch out warnings of doom. A short distance away lies the Abomination Vaults. A sprawling dungeon where a sorcerer Belcorra Haruvex attempted to raise an army of monsters hundreds of years ago. The goal? Stop world calamity by delving into the dungeon and stopping Belcorra from rising again. We will be running the Beginners Box going into the Abomination Vaults - a combo designed for people brand new to Pathfinder to learn to play the game in a beginner-friendly way. This will then lead into Abomination Vaults - a creepy mega-dungeon crawler where you unravel the tapestry of lies and deceit that has been culminating for years. We will be using FoundryVTT, with the online service provider Forge. No additional purchase is necessary to use Foundry as I will be providing you with everything you need to play. Some important things: 🪧 - Free Session Zero! I will be helping break the ice and talk about ground rules and our aims for play. 👀 - Help with Character Creation - I will arrange a 1 on 1 call with you to talk about your character and their motivations. 👏 - Beginner Help Sessions - No experience with FoundryVTT or PF2E? No worries! We can organize a call to go over the basics of how to use the software. 😁 - Level 1-10. This is a level 1 to 10 adventure.

Creating your character
I will provide for you character sheets on FoundryVTT to host and create your characters. A popular tool used to create character sheets is Pathbuilder - which there will be a module to import directly to FoundryVTT. Where possible I will ask you to create your sheet before Session 0 starts - but I will also arrange a call with you upon request if you require assistance.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need the following: 🪧 - A working microphone. Doesn't need to be amazing quality but as long as we can hear you clearly that's good. 🪧 - (If you wish) A webcam. I tend not to use a webcam myself, but if you wish to a webcam that's fine by me. Totally optional. 🪧 - An account on Discord. That's where we will be running our games. 🪧 - An account on Forge. I will help you get setup with the invite game link but you will require an initial account to access the game; https://forge-vtt.com/ 🪧 - (Optional) Read the rules. Pathfinder 2E rules are available for free online at https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx and it will help you get a massive headstart going into the game. There are some rather complex game systems such as stealth and crafting that it can be helpful to get ahead of. 🪧 - Create characters. I ask players to create characters and their motivations ahead of Session Zero. I can help you get setup but creating the characters means we can run into Session Zero with a massive headstart and hit the ground running!

To my intrepid adventurers I bring the following: ⚔️ - FoundryVTT, hosted on Forge (getting setup for you is free) ⚔️ - Custom personal music made by yours truly, with scope to create custom themes for your characters as we go along. In addition this is what I will add to our adventures: ⚔️ - Playlists from a wide variety of video games to suit any scenario. ⚔️ - Intense, tactical combat scaled to your skill level to provide a challenge at any skill level. ⚔️ - A preference towards rules as written, but twisting it to allow you to achieve your fate. This is what to expect from me: 🤵 - Constant improvement and iteration. I like to ask for feedback quite often, and improve based on online advice and your feedback. 🤵 - Open door policy with regards to DMs. You can come talk to me about anything, and if course where my time permits I will respond urgently. 🤵 - Passion and dedication. Ask my existing players and they will tell you about my passion towards the craft. I love telling stories from people starting with my acting background and that translates over to here. 🚨 Any sexual violence towards NPCs will result in an immediate ban without refund. 🚨

How Adam Hayes creates a safe table
Every player who gets invited will get a link to a Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist. It will take only a few minutes to fill out, and all answers will be populated onto an anonymized master spreadsheet. Additionally, my DMs on Discord will be open for you to privately declare when something is disturbing or distressing to you that wasn't covered as such. I will also be asking during our 1-to-1 any content not on the spreadsheet you wish to avoid.
