About the adventure
Slip into the somewhat scuffed and decidedly mismatched boots of the esteemed (or possibly infamous) members of Ankh-Morpork's Watch as they embark on an investigation most curious—a break-in and a number of missing volatile, explosive dragons. Yes, you heard that right: dragons! Not your garden-variety lizards, mind you, but the sort that could turn a cozy tavern into an impromptu bonfire with a mere sneeze. This is a Learn-as-You-Play One-Shot adventure, tailor-made for fresh-faced newcomers and seasoned veterans alike. Dive headfirst into a system that celebrates the delightful absurdity of the Discworld, where silliness reigns supreme, and flexibility is the name of the game. Get ready to unleash puns so terrible they could make a troll weep—both in joy and in existential dread.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Welcome to a world of endless adventure. I, your Dungeon Master, invite you to journey to lands of gods and monsters, rebels and powerful factions, intrigue and mystery. Who will you choose to be? Whether you are a seasoned veteran or new to the game, I will work with you to create a personalized and unforgettable gaming experience. As an experienced and passionate adventure designer, I will keep you on the edge of your seat. My proficiency with the D&D 5e ruleset allows me to adapt the system to immersive worlds with unique encounters and creative challenges. With my flexibility and improvisation skills, player choice will ripple throughout the narrative and help me create an adventure highly tailored to your individual preferences and playstyle. Join me now, and we will embark on a journey of discovery, danger, and glory! What to Expect: -Combat: Encounters where the main objective isn’t always just “defeat the enemy.” -Character Voices: Memorable NPC characterizations, just like video games! -Player Character Advocacy: I love all my PCs equally. I'm not a “gotcha” DM. (Note, that doesn't mean that you have plot armor, but if your character dies I strive to make it fair and narratively satisfying.) -Equal Spotlight. TTRPGs are an ensemble! The PCs are all equally important to the story. Some sessions may focus a little more on an individual, but you will all get time to shine. -Rule of Cool: The rules exist to serve the story. If they disrupt the narrative we are building, I'll adapt them to serve the story we are telling. -Collaboration: While the DM may do the heavy lifting to present a robust world to play in, we are collectively telling a story and I will respect your character and their agency. -Safe Space: It is of utmost importance to me that we all feel safe when we play. You should feel comfortable coming to me with problems. I promise an open mind and mediation when necessary. GM Stat Block: Proficiency in Performance: I have a degree in acting and am a trained improviser. Tool Proficiency - Gaming Sets: I come packed with decades of video and board game experience to draw inspiration from. Arcane Tradition - Illusion: I spend full work weeks writing adventures, working on characters, studying rules and lore, and tailoring encounters to dazzle the senses. I would love to do that for you!

Creating your character
Pre-generated characters will be provided for this one-shot escapade—no need for the lengthy origin stories, as we’ve got enough existential crises to fill L-space. And fear not; I shall impart the rules as we go along, much like how your parents were supposed to teach you the intricacies of life, but with less awkward silence and more enthusiastic gesturing.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
First and foremost, you’ll need a computer—a marvel of modern wizardry, and I imagine you’ve already got one if you’re deciphering these ramblings. Bravo! Now, let’s not get our wits tangled—what you need is DISCORD, not to be confused with the notorious DISCWORLD. You’ll also require a microphone—as your echoes of your brilliance (or bewilderment) must reach my ears. And a webcam, so I can delight in the spectacle of your most powerful cringe at the truly terrible puns we’re bound to unleash upon the unsuspecting universe. Lastly, we’ll be utilizing Roll20 to paint the scene and roll dice—because what’s a grand adventure without the random whims of fate deciding whether you heroically save the day or trip over your own shoelaces?
What Benjamin brings to the table
The Spirit in which this game is meant to be played! And I do mean Spirit—grab your ceremonial snacks and prepare your most respectful incantations, for I shall be employing my trusty Ouija board to summon the late, great Sir Terry Pratchett, himself. I fully expect he’ll be somewhat coarse with me, which is precisely how one knows one is doing it right. As a trained actor and improviser, I find myself in desperate need of an excuse to justify that rather expensive college degree. Fear not! I shall wield my skills with the fervor of a wizard who’s happened upon a secret grimoire—expect dramatic flair, spontaneous character voices, and possibly a few interpretive dances if the mood strikes (and the room isn’t too crowded).
