Creating your character

We will discuss character creation together in a free Session 0, this will go over your First level character, their current life, and the deal you made, which will be performed organically in a private voice chat.

Preparing for the session

All you need is a microphone, a Roll20 account (It's free!) and Discord (Also free!)

What Jackie brings to the table

We will be playing on Roll20 using it for our VTT and sheets! We will be using the current 2024 rules to play, and you will have access to all of my books on Roll20 that are 2024 compatible! Anything available in the charactermancer will be useable within reason. Additionally, we will have a Discord server in which we will be able to discuss the game, your characters, and more. I am a GM who loves roleplay, and creative solutions to unorthodox problems, so if you meet me with something strange, I'll match you! Whether I stick to RAW or Rule of Cool depends entirely on the situation though. Also, expect LOTS of voices!

How Jackie creates a safe table

Welcome to "A Second Chance - Chapter 1, The Thread of Fate" The start of a hopefully longform campaign, beginning at level 1, and moving up to whichever level the players reach by the end! Expect lots of roleplay, unorthodox but reasonable solutions to strange problems, and an emphasis on allowing you to TRY. Some things to understand: 1. This is my first paid game hosted on Startplaying! With that in mind, please understand I am doing my best. 2. I am a transfemme enby, she/they/it, if you can't respect that, you don't have a place in my game. 3. I am part of a system, if you wish to know what this means, please message me! 4. I am perfectly fine with a character flirting with an NPC, but please understand, how they respond will be *brutally* realistic in some cases. (Don't expect to say something perverted and roll a high persuasion.). Also, an NPC flirting back does not mean I'm attracted to you, it simply means it worked. 4a. THERE WILL BE NO ERP, AT MOST IT WILL FADE TO BLACK 4b. Comedic nudity is okay if the table agrees to it, but the moment it steps over a line of a single player's comfort, it's over. Possible triggers include (All of which can be lined or veiled to a degree): Blood Drugs Dismemberment Betrayal Drowning Cheating (Relationships) Torture Animal Abuse Religious Abuse Racism (Not glorified, you can fight back) Sexism Specism Any that are not listed here but you expect you may encounter, I urge you to tell me if you struggle with. What's expected of you: A willingness to roleplay! A willingness to roll with the punches Don't be a rules lawyer, but please do bring up rules in DMs if you believe I am not following them. You do not need to be "Good" in this game, in fact, you can be explicitly Evil, so long as your goals align with the party. Want to start an assassin cult in the criminal underworld? Sure! Just don't get the party into trouble. Want to be a cannibal murderer who can't control their "Unnusual Cravings"? Sure! Just don't eat kids! If you want to play a sex criminal, you can kindly find another table.
