Ain't That Just The Way, A Cozy Autumnal Adventure
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
In a land full of glowing autumnal forests, quiet towns, and charmingly nonsensical adventures, you find yourself among the leaves with a group of travelers, traveling through the towns in search of.... something. You can't quite remember how you came upon this quest, what your goal is, or where you came from, but you know you're having a lovely time, and surely that's all that matters, right? Right?? In this Over the Garden Wall inspired campaign, you and a group of adventurers will be delighted by a quaint, cozy journey, full of warm mugs of apple cider and frolicking through pumpkin patches. It will be starting at Level 1, and is open to people with all levels of experience.
Open to all levels of experience and very beginner-friendly.

Francesca is a great GM. She is not only a wonderful storyteller but also an incredibly kind and welcoming person. Her worldbuilding is top-notch, every location and NPC feels alive and meaningful. She ensures everyone at the table feels included and heard. I can't recomment her enough so if you get the chance to sit at her table do it!
Francesca hosted our first ever D&D session and ran a really lovely cosy One-Shot for us. She was so responsive all through the prep work before the session and was really patient and clear with us. The world she built for us was so imaginative and layered and really helped us to think about interesting and varied characters. She also really brought the NPCs to life and I loved the game playlist that she shared. Definitely got us all hooked on the game!
I have always wanted to play D&D, but the opportunity never came up. This is where Francesca comes in. I LOVED having Francesca as a DM! She created a super fun campaign/world, was patient and clear while explaining the rules (I was a first time player so the extra help was needed), and I had an amazing time! She was very open to our team’s hijinx and was quick to think on her feet as the story shifted with each turn. 10/10 would recommend!

How to prepare
You will need: A functioning webcam and mic, a character concept, and a full imagination!
What I provide
I deeply love the magic in storytelling, so I lean towards story and narrative over pure game mechanics. That being said, feel free to roleplay at whatever level is comfortable with you, whether that be full character voices and conversations or just narrating what actions you wish to take. However you want to play is up to you, and it’s my goal to make sure you’re having a good time. My games are mostly theater of the mind, but I will have an overall map for the setting. I’m pretty chill when it comes to rules; I think that the goal of playing DnD is to have a good time and the mechanics shouldn’t have to get in the way of that. I do broadly follow the rules as written, mainly for clarity’s sake. However, if we come across something that gets in the way of telling the story we want to tell, I’m happy to work with you (within reason of course). As a player, you can expect a rich and open world, complete with fantastical storytelling, diverse and colorful NPC’s, homebrew creatures and magical items, and a warm, welcoming environment for all.

How will character creation work
Character creation will happen before the first session, and I am happy to work with you if you're unfamiliar with the process or just want to know more about the campaign. We will be starting at level 1, and stats will be decided by the rolling system rather than the point buying system. I also will ask that you stick with the races and classes in the official Players Handbook.
