About the adventure
Malevolence is a Pathfinder 2e standalone adventure. In this game you will explore a haunted house, uncover the horrors lurking beneath and, hopefully, survive. Malevolence, a horror-themed adventure, immerses players in a ghost-hunting journey filled with supernatural encounters, chilling visions, and a dark past. The abandoned estate holds dark secrets, twisted by tragedy, and it's up to you and your party to investigate, survive, and confront the malevolent spirits that stir within. As you uncover disturbing clues and interact with new spells and magical items, you will experience an adventure like no other, one that is bound to test your courage at every turn. This is not just a dungeon crawl—it's a gripping tale of psychological horror, infused with Lovecraftian undertones and terrifying occult mysteries. Players are thrust into a mansion packed with unsettling visions and haunted history, using both their investigative and combat skills to piece together the truth before it's too late. If you're looking for a game that combines immersive storytelling, atmospheric tension, and the thrill of the unknown, Malevolence is your perfect adventure. This adventure depicts strong themes of memory-based horror, body horror, growing psychosis, and cosmic horror as well. If you don't want to play in a game with these topics, this adventure may not be the right adventure for you.
This premium Pathfinder mini-adventure is uniquely dedicated to investigation and exploration. Can you unravel the mystery of the cursed estate before the Malevolence overtakes you? Play begins at 3rd level - we will be using Free Archetype, Gradual Ability Boost and Automatic Rune Progression.

How to prepare
A good microphone is appreciated. If we can't hear you clearly, you may not have the best experience. I will be using a webcam because I believe it enhances how players can enjoy the game. It would be awesome if you choose to join me on camera, but you will not be forced to do so. I expect players to make an effort to learn the rules. I'll assist with anything you may need, providing links and other resources as necessary. You may either create your own character, and I can help you with any steps, or you may use a pre-generated character. I can provide one upon request.
What I provide
I will be using FoundryVTT with every available module. If a player wishes to have a certain module active, they can ask me, and I will likely enable it unless it breaks something else. We will be using Premium content for this game, which includes detailed maps, several music playlists, high-quality enemy tokens, as well as a host of automation features. Additionally, we'll incorporate JB2A animated effects such as Fireball animations and weapon swings, adding a range of visual enhancements. While I'll strive to perform voices for NPCs, please understand that I'm not a professional voice actor. While I may not be able to cry on cue, I aim to convey the emotions of each character effectively. I will make an effort to integrate your backstory into the adventure, but there are limitations. For example, if the adventure primarily takes place in a landlocked kingdom, it may be challenging to incorporate a backstory involving piracy on the high seas. We will be playing through an Adventure Path with pre-set content. It will greatly aid the game if you are willing to engage with the adventure proposal.
Gameplay details
I will speak with each player individually, in a 'pre-session 0' manner, to understand the best way I can welcome them. Following that, we will have a conventional session 0 with everyone together. During this session, several questions will be asked, and I will also be available to answer any questions the players may have. The goal is to ensure that this game provides the best possible experience for every player. We have the X-Card module in Foundry. By clicking a button, an X card will appear on the screen. If a player activates it, the scene will end, and we will move on. After the game, the player can reach me out so I can understand the issue and work to avoid repeating the issued topic.

How will character creation work
We will be using Free Archetype, Gradual Ability Boost and Automatic Runes Progression. Please, ask about it if you don't know what those things means. There are several mysteries to uncover in Malevolence, and to solve them, we will be researching and consulting tomes and dreams, as well as dealing with various haunts. The following skills and lore specialties will see considerable use in this adventure: Crafting, Diplomacy, Intimidation, Occultism, Religion, Society, and Thievery. Astronomy Lore, Desna Lore, Library Lore, and Psychopomp Lore. We will make use of every available official content published by Paizo. Additionally, if it's not too disruptive, we can incorporate some material from Battlezoo as well. Just ask, although we may need to adjust some narrative details for Battlezoo options. Please note that any content with a rarity higher than Common must be checked with me first. It's not about power level, but rather any potential issues they may introduce.
