About me
Hello, everyone! My name is Alex, and I have been running tabletop games since 2012 (going on 12 years now, holy cow!). I love telling a story through collaboration. Dungeons & Dragons is a beautiful method of gathering friends (old and new) and escaping through our characters. It should be fun and comfortable, while leaving room for adrenaline and tense situations along the way. I adore watching my players turn my story on its heels. I love creative solutions, and I am a firm subscriber to "The Rule of Cool". I would love to host a group of players looking for a way into the hobby. I want to provide a comfortable space for people new to D&D, as well as to veterans like myself who want to play for a change! (I'm looking at you, the forever DM's like myself). Come one, come all! I would love for you and your character to tell me a story, and I'll provide the tavern to start these travels. Disclaimer: I'll do silly voices, so you can too!

Proficiencies
Players say this GM is great at:
Creativity
Storytelling
Sets the Mood
A DM who is capable of both progressing things along and allowing the players to interact in roleplay is not as common as most would think. I'm not far into Alex's campaign, but based on the interactions he's had with the whole group; I'm think I'm in for a good ride. He's welcoming and accommodating and presents challenging encounters that have had a pretty cinematic feel to them. Really looking forward to what comes next.
I have been A player in four of Alex's campaigns over the past eight-ish years, and can easily say that, of the six GM's I have played under, he is my favorite. Alex has a masterful command not just of 5e's rules, but of story and characters as well, and of how they fit into a ttrpg. So much so they I have personally watched this man set the entire table into a fit of stitch inducing laughter, and then drive one of to genuine tears just twenty minutes later. Alex also has a clear priority of making his players happy, and of ensuring they can tell the story they want to, while also being excellent at getting a group of players to work together and get on board whatever plot is happening. Anyway, 10/10, would recommend, also genuinely jealous that you schmucks get to play in one of his games while I'm not.
I have been playing with Alex for over 10 years, using both premade modules, hand written sessions, and premades gone so chaotic they become hand written. He understands all requisite rules, and will balance anything you may want to do with what will maximize the fun of the party. We have had an ongoing campaign for over four years now and every next session is the the greatest thing to look forward to. 19/20, got scammed by a gnome.
Played a compact 7-8 session campaign that started at level 1 and ended at level 20. It was a wacky ride with love, death, undeath, drugs, dungeons, and lots of booze. Overall, would definitely recommend him as a DM that is committed to the bit, makes sure everyone has a good time, and loves telling stories with his friends.
Character creation
Creating your character
You will create your characters in between session 0 and the first session of the campaign. Stats will be rolled by everyone. Everyone will each roll a stat, 4d6 drop the lowest and reroll 1's. I will roll the last stat, and you take an 8. Then everyone will share the same stats.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a microphone, no webcam necessary! You will need to understand the mechanics of your character prior to each session. I can help you learn these, but the more you understand the game before we play, the smoother the session will go!

Safety
How Alex K creates a safe table
We will host a free session 0 to discuss the elements of the game, wants and want-nots. If there is anything that you are uncomfortable with dealing with, please bring it up then, or in private with me at any point. X, N, & O's will be direct messages to me during the game to keep anonymity. Your comfort and safety is paramount at the table. Also, we will allow for 10 minutes after the session wraps to discuss the game, what went well and what we are excited for next time!
