How to D&D: Learn to Play! (PAST)
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | One-Shot
About the adventure
So you've decided to try D&D, but you have no idea where to start? Start here! A lot of beginner's modules try to teach newbies how to play by throwing them into a game and explaining the rules as they go, but "trial by fire" doesn't work for everybody, and it often causes certain concepts to fall through the cracks. That's why I came up with this workshop! I'm Nico de Gallo: professional actor, voice actor, show host, and teacher! Not everybody can commit to investing in rulebooks, and even if you have access to the rules, reading through all of them can be a huge slog! After spending several years suckering my friends into trying out D&D for their first time, I got really good at teaching it to new people! Whether you're new to D&D or Tabletop Role-Playing Games in general, I got you. We'll cover: 1. The basics of what D&D is. 2. Some core rules. 3. Coming up with characters and understanding your character sheet (I have a separate workshop where we go in-depth about that). 4. What playing a D&D session looks like. 5. Role-play and combat. At the end, we'll put it all together and play a little while so you can get a general feeling for playing the game and ask any questions you might have left! By the end of this workshop, you should be all ready to join games or start a game of your own!
