About the adventure

“There is pattern in everything. Even the humblest speck of dust was once a mighty mountain. Seeing unlocks the patterns. And the tools of seeing are many.” — Matt Wagner, MADAME XANADU (2008) Memories of your past. Realities of your present. Fears and hopes for your future. All swirling around you, overwhelming with a torrent of emotion. So many choices you’ve made, and so many more to go! Do they even matter? Are your choices yours, or was this path predetermined? Is fate set in stone, or can it be molded to your will? There are no answers. You awake on a street corner in a bustling city. In your hand is something new. A single, beautifully illustrated tarot card. You don’t remember finding it, but somehow, deep inside your heart, you know that it has always been yours. Except… it can’t be. This is a symbol of prophecy, and prophecy is no more. Aroden’s death proved that fate was a finicky, untrustworthy thing. Yet you can’t reconcile what you have been told with the truth now held in your hand: that your fate is tied to something much greater than yourself. One thing you do know — if the artifact you hold is true, then many will be looking for it. Good and bad actors alike. Better start running. 🔮 A plane-spanning race against time for the fate of fate! 🔧 Premium Foundry module published by Paizo 🗺️ High-resolution art, battlemaps, tokens, and animations 🎭 Professional theatrical storytelling and a dedication to detail 🎶 Immersive audio, from snarling fiends to twinkling piano 🖥️ All official game resources and technology to spite fate ⚔️ Beginner-friendly while still engaging more experienced pathfinders 🏳️‍🌈 Inclusive environment for all identities, in and out of game 🛎️ Weekly office hours for questions, concerns, and casual banter Stolen Fate is a cosmic fantasy Adventure Path for the second edition of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Player characters will advance from Level 11 to Level 20 as they travel to parts unknown, negotiate with gods, and wrest for control over destiny itself in the form of a mysterious, powerful artifact. Inspired by works like JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK, THE WHEEL OF TIME, and 12 MONKEYS, the cards tell your destiny — do you like what you see?

About me

My name's MJ (she/her), and I'm everything your parents warned you about: a horror writer, a punk rock guitarist, a Philadelphia sports fan, and a Dungeon Master! My friends have described me as "a German Shepherd cursed to be human," "the universe's favorite chew toy," and "too interesting for my own good."

Safety

How MJ creates a safe table

The content warnings detailed below list items that are likely to appear during this campaign. This is not a complete list of sensitive content that might arise in-game. Part of our Session 0 will involve discussing players’ comfort levels with potentially triggering topics, and the game can be altered to minimize certain subject matter or avoid it entirely. Players who join after Session 0 should discuss these topics with the GM during weekly office hours. Certain themes are so central to the text that to remove them from the game would be to destroy the campaign’s fundamental premise. The central villains are in league with all sorts of fiends, from devils to demons to daemons. One subplot involves a woman who was overthrown, tortured, and murdered by the people she oppressed. Tabletop role-playing games are meant to be an escape from the horrors of the real world, and as a queer woman, I pride myself on making my tables a safe and inclusive environment for all. Above-table prejudices such as racism, misogyny, homophobia, and transphobia are forbidden at my table and will lead to your immediate removal from a session without refund, complete ban from all present and future tables, and a formal report to StartPlaying.
