About the adventure

A group of explorers is seeking an ancient keep deep within the frozen waters of the Accrid Snowlands. The order for adventurers and trained explorers has been up for some time, as it seems other ongoing events seem to be taking precedence. Basile Trottier, the leader of the fournemouth explorer's guild, has however taken to coming to several local inns and bars and request aid in person. Rumor has it that he has been quite forceful and speaks of secrets of the universe, for which could change the future of all mortal kind. No one however has seemed to be convinced. Despite his fervent pleas, Basile Trottier's requests have been met with skepticism and dismissal. Most assume his talk of "secrets of the universe" is just the ramblings of a desperate man seeking fame or riches. Even within his own guild, many are reluctant to follow him, fearing the perilous journey into the heart of the Accrid Snowlands, where unforgiving winds howl endlessly, and temperatures drop to deadly extremes. The ancient keep, known only through fragmented tales, is said to lie beneath the frozen waters, an impossible place to reach without the most advanced magical and technological aid. Trottier, however, seems to know more than he lets on. Whispers suggest that he has a map, one passed down through generations of explorers, said to reveal not just the location of the keep, but the means of breaching its icy depths. The adventurers that have taken an interest are few—those who are either foolish enough to trust in legends or experienced enough to recognize the truth hidden within them. They speak of strange lights seen in the southern skies, flickering like stars, but far too close to be anything natural. Some even claim to have encountered strange, half-frozen creatures wandering aimlessly near the Snowlands' borders, their eyes glowing with a faint, otherworldly light. Despite the mounting evidence, few are willing to risk their lives on what many believe is a fool's errand. The Snowlands are treacherous, and the frozen waters that guard the keep are said to be cursed. Ships attempting to sail through have vanished without a trace, and the ice itself is rumored to be haunted by the souls of those who tried and failed to uncover the keep’s secrets. But for Basile Trottier, the stakes are too high to abandon the quest. He speaks of a coming darkness, one that only the knowledge hidden in the keep can stave off. Time, he claims, is running out. And while most dismiss his warnings as mere fearmongering, a select few have started to wonder if there’s more to his story—if perhaps, buried beneath the ice and snow, lies something that could indeed change the future of all mortal kind.

What Neemster brings to the table

We will be playing out of the Foundry virtual table-top. I build all of my campaigns on custom maps I make myself. Characters can be stored in any fashion that you desire, as long as I have a copy, and you are comfortable rolling in the text chat or through macros of your character sheet. During the game I prefer to have my camera on to emote more with the characters I'm playing, but no players are required to be on camera as long as you have a working microphone. I utilize discord music player to set the mood with ambient and battle music, and have sound effects to add a little flair to you and your enemies actions. My style leans to the role-play side of things, I want you and your characters to grow and have immersive experiences. So while rules are written to be followed, I will always side with roleplay over ruleplay. Everyone's "Fun" at the table comes before anything else.
