Creating your character
Character creation can happen during the free session 0, and then if new characters need to be created during play that can be done with me via chat in the discord in between sessions. Stats will be calculated using the core rulebook guide for building PCs, but if you want to customize your character further, as long as it does not imbalance the party, I am totally alright with it.
This game will use the very fun Walking Dead Universe system from Free League Publishing. It has drama, roleplaying, action, and suspense as the players work together to survive in the post-apocalyptic world!

Preparing for the session
Join the discord, and message me to get the PDF of the core rulebook and fillable PDF character sheets. That's it. Happy to explain game mechanics during the free session 0, no knowledge of the TV show or comics necessary, its a fun and easy to learn system!
What Josh Lindquist brings to the table
I was hired by the publisher to run modules for this system at GenCon 2024 and I had a great time doing it! I have PDFs of the core rulebook, supplemental tables and fillable PDFs for character sheets and other things in the game, like the Haven where your characters set up a stronghold against the Walkers. The combat in this game is very fluid and exact distances are rarely calculated, so mainly Inkarnate maps or Theater of the Mind will be used. Discord will be where we play and communicate between sessions, with Zoom as a backup if that is preferred by players. This system can be brutal and things can spiral out of control quickly, so PCs dying and then players making new characters to replace them is likely. I am a Game Master that loves improv, challenging combats, and roleplay amongst players! I love catering the game to what the group wants and making adjustments to make it as fun and fulfilling as possible!

How Josh Lindquist creates a safe table
Player safety and comfort is a top priority here. Content Warnings mentioned above can be removed if a player wishes, no worries at all. A free session 0 for all players to go over their boundaries and needs is guaranteed. Every player will fill out the Monte Cook player consent and content PDF. Using Zoom to play, players can raise hands to prompt a break and use zoom chat or discord message to raise concerns. And every session will end with Stars & Wishes to go over what worked and what did not for the group. Any additional safety or other accommodations available upon request :)
