About the adventure
• Zombies! is an Asynchronous PbP TWD campaign. With daily posting on Discord. Both total beginners and experienced gamers - from all time zones - will find it a perfect fit. • the campaign started in February 2024, has been running uninterrupted, daily, and as we move deeper into our 2nd year we have three players, with room for a a 4th. As called by the rules, this is a very open character-centered sandbox game so newcomers will be able to not only easily fit in, but heavily contribute to the story from the get go, with a lot of room for personal choices & goals. There is a GM plot with individual & overarching stories to keep things moving. • the adventure started just before the Zombie Apocalypse, in August 2010 (following TWD canon), on the coast of Massachusetts, U.S.A., now, the survivors are setting up their new Haven. Will you join them in securing their future? • the fee is for one week of daily gaming (multiple posts per day are possible), with XP given out every start of the month (when a new chapter generally starts) • the Zombie Apocalypse is happening! How will you survive, remain emotionally sane, and what world will you strive to rebuild?! A game... to have fun, together!
Game style
Rules as Written (RaW)
Games that are ran “Rules as Written” emphasize realism and stick to the letter of the rules, allowing players to explore creative solutions while still operating under a consistent rule set. Players have the ability to utilize the rules in creative ways to create awesome characters and moments in the game.
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.
This campaign has recently entered its 2nd year (real time), with daily posting all the time, but there is plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing as well as join up with, and further the goals of, the current group of survivors!

How to prepare
You need to register on and be able to use Discord, where the game will happen, via asynchronous text posts (in English). I am open to helping out and/or giving info' via audio chats on Discord, for which you would need a mic & be able to hear me. It is best if you have, or plan on getting, the rules (only one book needed), but that is not necessary (the basic rules will be explained, and posted). Character creation (and some world building if so desired) will be done before you enter the game.
What I provide
We use a Discord server with everything needed for the game (maps, images, dice, RP info', rules, character sheets...). I follow the Rules as Written, to have a common ground, but favor the PCs re. their cool, fun, and dramatic moves! The Walking Dead system gives a lot of space to player-driven gaming & PC interaction--but I step in to move things along when needed (and add surprises!), as well as providing personal & group hooks for the long term narrative.
Gameplay details
There will be a discussion with each player, to go over each person's Lines & Veils (the list thus being personalized). And Debriefings (as a group and/or on a 1 to 1 basis) when needed to keep this up to date.

How will character creation work
We will go over Character Creation, as per the rulebook, during the 1 on 1 Session 0s of each new player. It is a very simple and rapid process. This can be done via audio chat on Discord if so desired (vs. text only). We can coordinate with the group to have your PC fit before you start the game if you wish, as well as seeing what world choices you might want to make.
