Echoes of the Lost Gods: Dragonlance
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
In "Echoes of the Lost Gods," you find yourself in a world on the brink of upheaval as ancient and powerful deities, long forgotten by time, stir from their slumber. The campaign begins with strange and unsettling omens across Krynn—forgotten temples rediscovered, prophetic dreams, and the sudden resurgence of long-dormant magic. As whispers of these lost gods grow louder, you are drawn into a quest to uncover the truth behind their mysterious return. Your journey will take you through perilous landscapes, from the ruins of ancient civilizations to hidden sanctuaries guarded by powerful entities. Along the way, you will confront the remnants of the Dragon Armies, who seek to harness the returned gods' power for their own dark purposes. As you delve deeper, you will uncover a grand and ominous prophecy that hints at a cosmic struggle between the resurrected deities and an emerging threat that could tear the world apart. Choices made throughout the campaign will influence not only the fate of Krynn but also the nature of the divine forces themselves.

Sunshine is an amazing DM with many skills and the ability to make anyone feel comfortable at a table. They are able to help those who do not understand the game feel as though they have been playing for years through the use of their many years of experience. Really is an encyclopedia of D&D knowledge and will have many tools to help you begin a new campaign, learn how to DM yourself, or just have around to have a fun game.
Sunshine cares deeply for the integrity of the story you are building as a player. I can't really imagine how much time he must spend preparing for any possible scenario. He also is very accommodating to players of all different levels. I always feel like I can ask a question if I am confused on a gameplay mechanic, but this rarely happens as Sunshine is very detailed and makes the gameplay process as seamless as I have ever experienced. Also, If I could, I would tick every box below because he really is just that good.
I've never played with a GM so immersive. His long hours of preparation each week shows through the continually interesting storylines, mood changing underscore, and easily distinguishable characters with highly complex backstories. 10/10 would play again...and I will...because I always look forward to the friday night game.
I have found my experience with this Game Master to be quite pleasant! He is very good about creating an atmosphere that immerses you in the world you are playing in with great sound effects and music, as well as fun characters that enhance the world. He is very good at checking in with players and trying to give his characters resources to use for the campaign, and just be better players and understand the game better. He puts in a lot of time outside the campaign to make it better. He also is very willing to help you build your characters and help out when he can! I would highly recommend this GM for a campaign because it will put his all into it. Great ideas and creativity.
If I could select all tags to describe Sunshine, I would! As a beginner to D&D, I've always felt welcome and included in their games, and I've been able to grow in my own confidence as a player because of his help and guidance! Sunshine knows the rules from back to front but never shies away from the rule of cool, and always prioritizes player creativity and backstories when creating and running a campaign. They are a great storyteller with a talent for fun voices, and he always knows how to set the mood with fitting SFX and epic music, both of which leave a player like me feeling engaged and on the edge of my seat throughout each game. I truly cannot recommend Sunshine as a GM enough -- they always go out of their way to fully incorporate each player character into their campaigns, and bring a level of creativity to world building that is truly unmatched. Even when drawing from a pre-written campaign, Sunshine always finds a way to put his own spin on a story and personalize it in a way that leaves every player counting down the days to the next session (myself very much included)! Best DM I've ever played with!!!

Gameplay details
Will you be sending a link to your Lines and Veils document? Yes, I have a Google Drive where I keep my Lines and Veils document. I’ll share the link with you so you can review it before we start. What will you go over in Session 0? In Session 0, we’ll cover several important topics to ensure a smooth and enjoyable game for everyone. This includes discussing our Lines and Veils, setting expectations for the campaign, and reviewing any safety tools or preferences. We’ll also go over character creation, game rules, and any other details necessary for setting up our adventure. This meeting can be held on Discord or in person if we’re all local. How do you do aftercare? Aftercare is important to me, and I make sure to check in with everyone to address any concerns or feelings after our sessions. How will character creation work
Will this happen during the first session, or before it starts? -Character creation and discussions about campaign details will typically happen before the first session. We’ll go over character creation, backgrounds, and any specific details in our Session 0 to ensure everyone is ready to dive into the adventure from the very first game. How will stats be decided? -Stats will be decided using standard array, 4d6s take out the slowest, or if we are feeling lucky just a d20 depending on what best suits the campaign and the group’s preferences. We’ll discuss these options in Session 0 to ensure everyone has a clear understanding and agreement. What will their starting level be? -Characters will start at level 1. This allows for a more immersive and progressive development of abilities and story, fitting the campaign’s narrative. Where will the characters be created? -Characters will be created using Roll20 character sheets, which you can access and update at any time. This platform will help keep everything organized and easily accessible throughout the campaign. Are there any specific books they should or shouldn't refer to? -For this campaign, it’s best to focus on the core rulebooks (Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s Guide, and Monster Manual) and any specific sourcebooks or supplements I mention. Avoid relying on homebrew or third-party content that isn’t approved for this campaign to ensure consistency and balance in the game.
