Exandria Adventures - New Wednesday 2

Exandria Adventures - New Wednesday 2

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

Two armies clash on a fog-shrouded battlefield, heralded by the sound of trumpets and drums on one side, and by an eerie, chirping whistle like countless thousands of wailing crickets on the other. A raven, its ebony feathers spattered with blood, alights on one of The Fallen corpses and gently raps its beak on the soldier’s helmet. The raven looks up, Curious, and flies into the sky. A land embroiled in war expands beneath it, and yet, within the Shroud of Conflict, the raven sees twinkling pockets of light. The raven sees souls that shine bright with courage, kindness, and determination. It sees souls lustrous with greed, fear, and anger. And most of all, it sees souls radiating with a desire to discover their place in the world. The raven sees Wildemount. What's this all about? Wildemount is a new setting for your Dungeons & Dragons campaign, originally created by Matthew Mercer as the setting for the second campaign of the hit series Critical Role. Though it’s just one continent in the larger world of Exandria, Wildemount is teeming with varied cultures, locales, peoples, and Monsters. It is home to both avatars of evil and paragons of good, but it is defined by the Common people who exist in between these two Ideals. I love the world of Exandria and I am excited to DM the world myself. You will be playing with a DM that enjoys the setting as much as you do, and I will try to do it justice to it by creating fascinating and fun adventures centered around your characters and the choices that they make in the World. This is more your story than mine, I am just here to tell it. This game is set to be a level 1-15 campaign. It's planned to be a game with the goal of going for the long run. So if this sounds like the kind of game for you, post an application down below! This campaign will likely start with the preset adventures in the book before moving on to adventures with your characters as the story unfolds around you. You, the players, will be forging the story. In Session 0, we will discuss the campaign premise and I will get to hear a little about your wants and desires in Dungeons and Dragons. With that knowledge, I will create plot hooks and threads for you to pull on but ultimately the story is yours to create. Maybe your characters want to explore the Menagerie Coast? Xhorhas? Or be in the middle of a War? Or they are just treasure hunters hoping to find a score of a lifetime? Whatever it is, it will be your choice to make.

What I provide

Expectations of Me - A respectful outlook towards my players and the characters they wish to play. - A fair amount of roleplay and combat, depending on the preferences of the players. - Knowledge of the game rules, settings, modules, and campaigns. - A private discord server for voice communication and chatting during and between games. - A DM who will answer any questions, comments, or concerns within a reasonable time frame.

Gameplay details

Session 0 is a free session where the players gather to meet Me, the DM. We will be discussing a variety of things in this session such as any rule changes or variant rules being used. However, the most important thing we will be discussing is what you, the players, want in a campaign. What are some of the things you have always wanted to do in Dungeons and Dragons? Or is there something that excites you about the Wildemount setting? We as a group are going to create the campaign premise and from that, the characters you will be playing. This is a very involved process with the DM and players collaborating together. This ensures that the campaign is going to be something that you, the players, are going to enjoy. Expect this to be the same length as a normal session.

How will character creation work

The basics of creating your characters are as follows: - We will be using Roll20 or D&D Beyond to create characters and use the 5e sheet provided. - Characters will be starting out at level 1 in this adventure. - The players will use a modified heroic stat line variation to determine their character's stats. Discussed in Session 0. - Starting equipment can be determined by your Class and Background choices. - Alignments - I prefer not to have Evil aligned characters in my groups as they more often than not become a problem and a hindrance to the other players' enjoyment of the game. However, if you are willing to work with me on how to do Evil correctly, I am open to the idea. - Backstories will be done using the Heroic Chronicle and prophecy provided by EGTW. We will roll the background and then work together to create a unique in-depth story full of rich content for your character. This will help tie the character to the world of Wildemount and give me some fun things to pull into the story. - When it comes to Multi-classing, your character has to have a good reason as to why they’re going into their 2nd class. There should be some story element that takes place to introduce the character to this second class. I am a fan of multi-class but not a fan of taking a class because it grants X benefits. We can work on this together if multi-class is something you are looking forward to as the campaign progresses.
