About the adventure

Even in the idyllic world of the Verdant Isles, things go wrong and mysteries must be solved. Who sabotaged the pie contest? Where did all these moths come from? You'll be solving these cozy mysteries and many more as the animal-inspired folk of Oakenbend. If you want a gentle, cozy game full of acceptance and understanding, Teatime Adventures is the game system for you. Sometimes you want to save the world, and sometimes you want to people watch while drinking a large cup of tea at a quaint local coffee shop.

About me

Hi! I'm Tristan (he/they). I podcast, I read books, I have chronic migraines, and I crochet more blankets than can be used by any one person in a hot climate. Oh, and I play/run ttrpgs. Like a lot of people, I started out in college with Dungeons and Dragons. I was especially captivated by the role-playing aspects and party dynamics. Circumstances conspired against me, and I didn't get to play any ttrpgs again until about 2017. I've been playing steadily ever since, and within the last couple of years I've gotten really brave and started running a few different games. My favorites are rules-light systems that have a heavy emphasis on character and story. My games are queer, trans, and disabled person-friendly. (I'm all of those things, so it would be really weird if I wasn't inclusive.) I love collaboration, so my players are able to really shape the world around their characters.

Character creation

Creating your character

I encourage talking about character ideas beforehand, but if you come into Session 0 without any ideas, that's ok, too. After we talk about the safety tools in Session 0, we'll finalize details about the player characters.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Join me on my Discord server, where I'll post all the relevant rules and we can talk about the game. https://discord.gg/ztfnceuVbt

What Tristan Ash brings to the table

I have the rules and will share the important ones on the Discord, but if you have the Teatime Adventures core rulebook, too, great! Story and role playing are more important to me than rules. I will do my best to do character voices for NPCs, but some of my accents are truly atrocious.

Safety

How Tristan Ash creates a safe table

This first thing we will do in Session 0 is go over how to use the safety tools. I will also be posting everyone's lines and veils in a channel in the Discord server (because I know I forget things if I don't write them down).
