River's Six | (Keys to the Golden Vault\Critical Role Homebrew)
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Forge Unforgettable Relationships & Rivalries. Traverse the four corners of Exandria in Search of Treasure. Can you steal the day without losing your freedom or life? In this homebrew campaign inspired by heist movies like Ocean's 11, with a Suicide Squad twist, you and your party will join River's Six. An international band of thieves set to steal precious artifacts and treasures. You've been promised money and something no one else could possibly give you, something personal... As a Game Master it is my pleasure to help players tell their own stories and weave custom backgrounds, stories and characters into a campaign setting that many have already fallen in love with. This game will narrative heavy, with a focus on player stories and the main quest. Join this game and let's great our own world of magic and adventure. I will work with you one on one, or as a group, to help establish your story before the campaign starts. If you have any questions prior to joining, please reach out to me, I'd be happy to chat! Note: New players, even if this is your FIRST ever game, are welcome and encouraged to join! I pride myself on making sure that players of all types enjoy themselves and fall in love with D&D.
We have one spot opening up soon! If you are interested, you can apply or DM me, please! The table will be 6 players, as one of our current players schedule is changing.
Additional details
How to prepare
All of this will be covered in the session 0, which only requires you show up, have a microphone and be open to learning and collaboration! Session 1 will require microphones, cameras are optional, we'll have your character sheet built in DnD Beyond during Session 0 and you can roll digitally, or in real life if you have dice. Accounts made on Roll20 and a Discord Account are needed.
What I provide
I'll be providing a shared google document for player notes that everyone is encouraged to use, even if it's just writing down an NPC name. After each session I'll go through and help to fill everything out further, so that you have all the information you find in-game at your finger tips. I'll also be providing the Discord, including a private channel just for your party so you can communicate\get to know one another out of game, if you wish. There will also be a DnDBeyond Campaign with content sharing, so you'll have access to nearly every on DnDBeyond.
Gameplay details
Once we have a game scheduled, the first session will be a session 0. I'll send out a TL;DR of my GM Philosophy which we'll cover in our session 0. This consists of: safety tools, expectations, communication, team building\getting to know one another and the creation of our characters\backstories. Afterwards, I can send over the full document for anyone who would like to have it to reference later\go over more in detail on heir own. We'll be using Roll20 for our battle maps, Discord for communication and DnD Beyond to track our character sheets. This is a long form homebrew campaign, so I'm not sure what the length expectancy is, but we'll be playing for several months, to a year+. If anyone ends up dropping out, the story has a modular design to bring in new players if need be. I will always make time each week to talk with each player about their backstory, what kind of story they'd like to tell with their character, and where they're at following each session. This is not required if players would rather focus on just the main story, but that will be a player by player decision so there may be sessions that have nothing to do with the main story or anything from Keys to the Golden Vault. This something we can discuss further in Session 0.

How will character creation work
Character creation will happen in session 0, this includes choosing class and character details. Backstories are always encouraged, but we'll talk about the creation of them in our session 0. Those who do choose to create backstories ahead of time, be aware that once we go over them, I may ask for small to medium changes to better fit the overall campaign. We'll also talk about character token designs in our session 0 as well. The things to think about going into Session 0 -- what role or skillset do you bring to a Heist? Why would you have been chosen for this team? And secondly, what problem\regret\issue do you have, or thing do you want, that you didn't think anyone could possible help you with? What would you contemplate breaking your morale's to achieve?
