About the adventure
"Diaries of the Exalted" is a Dungeons & Dragons campaign that chronicles the extraordinary journey of aspiring heroes. From humble beginnings to the heights of glory or the depths of despair, players will experience the full arc of their characters' destinies. Each session adds a new chapter to their unfolding saga, a diary entry in the making, capturing their trials, triumphs, and tribulations. Setting Set in the sprawling and diverse world of Syllogia, a realm filled with ancient magic, treacherous politics, and untamed wilderness, players will explore bustling cities, haunted ruins, and mystical landscapes. Syllogia is a land on the brink of great change, with prophecies whispering of new heroes who will shape its future. Plot The campaign begins with the characters at the dawn of their adventuring careers. United by fate, prophecy, or a common cause, they set out to make their mark on the world. Throughout their journey, they will face insurmountable odds, forge powerful alliances, and uncover secrets that could alter the course of history. Gameplay Focus - Character Development. Emphasize role-playing and character development, encouraging players to delve into their characters' backstories, motivations, and aspirations. - Dynamic World. Create a living, breathing world that reacts to the players’ actions. Their deeds will have lasting impacts, from changing the political landscape to altering the fate of entire regions. - Diverse Challenges. Offer a mix of combat, exploration, and social interactions. Each session will provide new and varied challenges, requiring both brawn and brains. - Heroic Legacy. Creating your character
Characters will be discussed before the first session and their character sheets will be prepared beforehand. Sheets are stored in Roll20. Stats - Roll 4d6 and drop lowest, six times then assign to Abilities. If you don't like your roll, you can opt for Point-buy. Starting Level - 3rd Starting Equipment - From Class & Background + Any Trinket. Specific Books - Preferably use content from Officially Published Wizards of the Coast content, however I'd be up to discussing and using a homebrew subclass or race.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
- Make sure to check that your microphone is working. - Then you will need a Roll20 and a Discord Account. Preferably download the Discord app to avoid any audio issues/ glitches. - Characters shall be prepared before 1st session. Backstories and character advancement shall be discussed with the GM. New players shall also receive assistance with creating their characters.
What Metaslayer brings to the table
We'd be using Discord for communication and to keep notes. I prefer using Roll20 for a grid in case of combat. Most of the game will be played using overland maps for planning and theater of the mind. Most battle instances will be played using a VTT tools and maps drawn on the spot. Important scenes, puzzles and boss battles will likely receive special care with prepared hand-drawn maps. I am more of a Rule of the Cool GM, but I try to approach every situation with fairness. Character Creation and 1st Session are Free.

How Metaslayer creates a safe table
Players can expect a relaxing experience where they can focus on playing their characters, plotting their growth and discussing their development. There won't be much rules lawyering and throughout the game there should be plenty of treasures and goodies to find. Players are free to discuss their plans and follow any of the delivered hooks (or even pursue their own agendas, enabled by discussing your plans with the GM out of session or with the team during the game). All players (GM included) are expected to work together into weaving the story in a satisfying direction.
