About the adventure
Spoiler Caution: Do not look up information about the setting outside of what is presented in the Player's Guide under Recruiting Notes. The internet can contain spoilers for this Adventure Path. The Setting: This campaign takes place exclusively in and around a small rural town called Willowshore which resides in the haunted nation of Shenmen. The Season of Ghosts is named for a traditional period that takes place during the first few weeks of summer, when the woodlands see an increase in hauntings, spirits, and undead. While the cause of this increased haunting is uncertain, these ghosts often lure people to their deaths. In Willowshore, a massive feast and festival takes place on the last day of spring. Called the āReenactment Festival,ā this gala is meant not only to celebrate the end of spring, but to trick the evil spirits and ghosts believed to come out of the woods during the first few weeks of summer. As the festivalās feast concludes, the town reenacts victims being snatched away by āghostsā (played by townsfolk in paper masks). Those not involved in the faux abduction pretend to plunge into collective panic as designated wailers mourn loudly while others play out a search and rescue effort. This farce is believed to trick real ghosts into thinking that someone has already haunted the settlement, and thus trick them into seeking a happier village to inflict misery upon once the season of ghosts begins the next day on the first day of summer. The Adventure: - Awaken in the forest after playing the part of "abductees." - Investigate why no one has come to retrieve you back to the town. - Discover the source of the curse which has befallen the town.

Creating your character
š - Characters will start at 1st level. As PF2e is a game best played around a party, it is fine to have a concept being brought to the table, but try to have at least two you would be satisfied with. š - Actual finalization of characters will happen at Session 0 for the sake of weaving into the narrative of the world and coordination between players. šØ - Characters will be created on a Forge server for easy and at-will cloud access. š - Variant rules will include Automatic Bonus Progression, Free Archetype (unrestricted), and Ancestry Paragon.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
š„ - I will be using a webcam, but players are not requisite to use them. š¤ - Players should have a microphone for speaking and a way to listen to audio without creating echo. If one's environment is noisy, one may be asked to use push-to-talk or be diligent about muting when not speaking. š¬ - Players should join the Discord link provided in the preparation materials. Players should similarly create an account on Forge, a link to which will also be provided. š - Players may wish to review the rules of Pathfinder 2e online for free at their convenience. How Malkyn creates a safe table
ā ļø - Session 0 will be used to discuss all other safety tools. I will have a document to record lines and veils and people may elect to add to it anonymously. We will review content warnings and if any of those listed are an issue for anyone for any reason, the adventure's content can be changed with no explanation or justification needed. š“ - I will have private channels for players to send me messages aside with the Discord group. People may use these to communicate the X Card. āøļø - We will take breaks for both biological and cooling off reasons, and anyone who needs to step away from the table even when no break has been declared can do so. š« - I also spend time in the voice call after - and ideally before - session talking about anything to anyone, including but not limited to the game.
