About the adventure
Rumblings of Fate is an epic campaign loosely based on the Storm King's Thunder hardcover and spanning the entire world of Toril. Players will have the opportunity to explore a vast world teeming with peoples, stories, wonders, and danger. Though a plot does lurk in the background, the party will be free to choose their own direction and methods. This flexibility does mean that this campaign will be run with a mix of maps and theatre of the mind content, and in-session prep will happen as required to keep the campaign moving in the direction the party chooses.
Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi, welcome! I'm a forever DM who's embraced the role. I run over thirty hours of D&D weekly, and would love to include you in a game. D&D has allowed me to bring hundreds of people together, forging friendships and building stories that will last forever. It's become a huge part of my life, and I'm eternally grateful for having found this game and the community that plays it. Here are a few of my D&D accomplishments to-date: Lead Organizer for a local gaming community with over 800 members. Organized and created content for over thirty conventions and game days. Adventurers League Organized Play Lead for five major annual conventions. Received Far West Silver Dragon award for innovations in D&D organizing in 2018. 4.9/5 stars average rating over 60 reviews while running D&D at Gen Con 2019. To-date, raised over $13,000 for charity by organizing gaming events within my local community. I've also run every published 5th edition hardcover at least once, and I love something about each one of them. If a specific book catches your eye, let me know. If I'm not already running it, I could be!

Creating your character
Characters will begin the game at level 1 or as commoners (more info in Session 0). Characters may be created in Roll20 or on D&D Beyond, with rolls transferred via the Beyond20 extension for Google Chrome
The group leans mechanics-casual and is very friendly and welcoming to new players. We have a party-mom barbarian, a teen punk cleric, a spell-collecting bladesinger wizard, and a volley-firing archer fighter. This campaign arc is nearing its apex, with the characters having nearly solved the puzzle of the Thayan Doomvault to reach Szass Tam's secret lair. What remains is a bit of build up, a truly epic boss battle, and a final arc that could transcend the bounds of typical adventures (both in-game and level-wise). This adventure is just getting to the juiciest parts, so it's a great time to jump in! We're currently level 15, and the campaign could as far as level 23. Many adventures ahead of us!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Players will need a microphone, stable internet access, the Discord voice and chat app, and ability to reliably view the Virtual Tabletop interface. Some basic familiarity with the game system and various software platforms will be helpful, but not required.
What Marco G. brings to the table
I have digital copies of relevant D&D 5e sourcebooks, a virtual tabletop game with pages, handouts, and characters set up, and familiarity enough with the canonical Forgotten Realms to run a homebrew campaign that spans continents while remaining largely true to material written for D&D 5e.
