About the adventure
War has come to the planet of Yer. Peace is in the past, the way forward lies through conquest. After an era of upheaval the Unifiers known as the Cəll succeeded in bringing the world into an age of enlightenment and peace which lasted millennia. But chaos and violence grew hungry, starved for attention and action seeds began to sprout which stirred unrest. Peace and prosperity was not nearly as interesting as the conquest and subjugation to one of these beings. In a pronounced and violent betrayal this Unifier turned upon their own kind and opened the floodgates of tensions bubbling beneath the surface of the glorious society they had helped create. Coastal cities fell beneath massive waves as the aquatic cities were pulled into and beneath the seafloor. It started with some of the most powerful of beings-giants and dragons going mad and wreaking havoc and destruction. A madness that quickly spread as the various races that had once been bound together for the survival and benefit of all living beings on the planet turned on one another and tried to claim their own stake and identity. While some groups fought amongst themselves or tried to conquer the nearby lands, others retreated into sanctuaries deep in the mountains and forests, the clouds and glaciers-hiding from the truth and the conflicts. Others beseeched the unifiers and gods for aid with their pleas being met with silence-falling on deaf ears-unheard or ignored. Forts and bastions were attacked and crumbled, and entire swathes of land struck from the face of the planet to perhaps land within another plane of existence which stirred the denizens of such places. Demons, devils, celestials, genies and aberrations awoke-clamoring to join the conflict and steer the tide their own way while reaping the rewards they sought. The great magics and technological marvels began to fail as those who had once maintained such things no longer did, as those who had once powered such things rescinded their gifts. War has come to the planet of Yer, and you are a part of it. This is a campaign focused on a series of historical conflicts within a homebrew setting. The players are independent soldiers in this conflict-not bound to any one faction or master though that could change in time. Each has their own goals, aspirations and interests but are working together for a common goal. Mythological, mystic and exotic races are fairly common still though there are those who seek to change that. So if this interests you, feel free to join in and help! Peace is in the past, the way forward lies through conquest.

About me
Hello to one and hello to all. Fantasy has a way of immersing us within it the same way we consume those stories it shares. I have been playing or running RPG games off and on during the past three decades. Throughout various systems and new versions there always seems something new to learn or a way to grow. I have experience running with established campaign settings and full homebrew content as well. Whether it is a pre-written adventure, a custom modular campaign or an open ended journey full of discovery and exploration; I can provide as storyteller and gamemaster. I believe that gaming is about having fun, for yourself and with those you play with. If a player wants to do something, I try to say yes and figure out a way to make it work. Because of this I try to provide a flexible foundation for collaborative storytelling between players and the challenges they face. First and foremost in my games is the story and how the player characters fit within it-interacting with each other or NPCs. Combat and dice rolling is secondary but still creates the framework within which the story is told.

How Stephen Forrest creates a safe table
Players can expect a mixture of zoomed in roleplay and more zoomed out narrative descriptions of events. Enemies in combat may have an interest in killing the players and some may be willing to retreat or surrender. Due to the nature of this campaign, characters with a certain greyscale morality and flexibility is recommended. Session 0 is largely to try and provide additional information and interaction for both Players and DM to determine if the Table is suited and provide an intro sequence. Session 0 Notes including Safety Tools and Established Expectations are available to reference at that time and beyond. Generally I stay a few minutes after game if there is anything to discuss, likewise ask before beginning a session the same. I check in regularly on my players and their goals/expectations for their character or the campaign.
