About the adventure

Heaven is silent. The gods are dead. The world is broken, and the Spires have the answers. They have to, because we have nothing else. Enter a world shattered by a war waged by the gods. In the aftermath of their war, as the world lays ravaged and torn apart, the Spires appeared seemingly overnight. These monolithic structures have taken all the monsters and magical creatures of the world and placed them inside. There are thirteen Spires. Thirteen dead gods. Become a member of the League of Adventurers and explore the Spires, conquering floor after floor, defeating Boss after Boss, to see what lies at the very top. They've been here for over a century now. No one has ever reached the top. This is a gritty, dark fantasy world with high fantasy elements. Take on the role of an adventurer, join a party, and gain incredible power and wealth as you explore one of the Thirteen Spires. Defeat monsters, harvest their unique physiology to make new weapons, armor, and tools, and fight your way to the Bosses on every fifth floor. Work as a team, fighting what battles you wish to fight and learn what it takes to be the first ones to fully explore a Spire. With the gods dead and Heaven silent, death has no permanency to it...

Rule of Cool (RoC)

“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.

Dungeon Crawl

A “Dungeon Crawl” is a scenario where players navigate a dungeon or labyrinth-like environment for the entirety of the adventure. It emphasizes battling monsters, collecting loot, and avoiding traps to survive to the end!

Combat Heavy

“Combat Heavy” games emphasize the combat mechanics within their systems over roleplay or puzzle solving. There are frequent and longer battles with enemies and a greater emphasis on tactical game play.

*Currently level 7!* **Half-off Session 0 and Session 1!** If you enjoy dungeon crawls, then this is the game for you! Explore the many floors of one of the Thirteen Spires, giant structures that breach the clouds and are filled with an endless variety of monsters and magical creatures you can shoot an arrow at. Every floor is it's own biome and is technically endless in size. Be the first to go from the first floor up to the very top! This campaign uses special crafting, salvaging, and material collection rules to go along with its theme of dungeon exploration. Kill monsters, and take their stuff back to the city to make something cool out of it! For anyone who wants tactical combat, crafting your own stuff, and experiencing a post-apocalypse fantasy setting where all your enemies are in one singular location!

How to prepare

You will need a mic and an account on both Roll20 and Discord to participate. Rules will be covered during Session 0 alongside character creation and its applicable rules.

What I provide

I will be bringing my nearly-full compendium on Roll20 VTT, I will be making maps and custom tokens for the party, and will ATTEMPT voices. Music will be used during combat and exploration interactions. Musical preferences will be discussed during Session 0. Combat will be tactical using cover and concealment, surprise and ambush tactics. Battles will be scaled to reflect the group size and dynamic, but will be challenging on purpose. I prefer the Rule of Cool and will build you and your characters towards incredible power, while throwing incredibly powerful enemies at you. Prepare to do cool stuff while your enemies are equally cool.

Gameplay details

Triggers will be discussed during Session 0, either through verbal discussion or through private message on Discord. These can be hard or soft limits. Triggers and limits will be strictly observed and removed from the story as directly as possible when determined they must be.

Session 0

How will character creation work

Characters will be created during Session 0. We will roll for stats using the Avrae Discord bot on the Discord server. You will roll 2 sets of dice rolls using the !randchar command, rerolling any number below 10 until you roll 10 or above with the !r 4d6kh3 command. You can choose between the two sets. Starting level will be level 1. Characters will be created on Roll20 in the VTT. Approved races and classes will be discussed during Session 0. This is a Level 1 to 20 campaign, with fast leveling up to level 10 and slower pacing towards level 20.
