About the adventure

1930 - Arkham, Massachusetts. A new school year is approaching at Miskatonic University. The last few weeks of summer are dropping off the calendar as students prepare for the upcoming semester. A notice appears on the student bulletin boards announcing extra credit to participate in a small expedition to the nearby hills of Vermont to gather more input from the previous year's expedition. Gossip about last year's expedition - which resulted in 2 students going missing and the death of another - spreads through the student body. But extra credit is extra credit.... πŸ—ΊοΈ Illustrative maps, handouts, and artwork 🎭 Professional theatrical storytelling with dynamic NPCs 🎸 Soundtrack and ambient noise to heighten the mood πŸ–₯️ All official game resources to begin your investigations πŸ” Beginner-friendly while still challenging more experienced investigators πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ Inclusive environment for all identities, in and out of game πŸ’– Dedicated Discord server for questions, concerns, and casual banter A Time To Harvest is a five-chapter campaign designed for the seventh edition of Call of Cthulhu. Based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft, you will take on the role of university-affiliated investigators, students and faculty seeking to unravel the mysteries surrounding the seemingly quiet town of Cobbs Corners, VT. Solve the mysteries before the madness (or something worse) consumes you! Estimated 3-4 Sessions per chapter (15-20 Sessions) plus a Session 0 for character creation & campaign development catered to our group. Can be played in Classic or Pulp settings - decided by our group.

Gameplay details

The content warnings below detail items that might appear in the game, not items that are guaranteed to appear. Part of our Session 0 will involve going over lines, veils, and other content that the table might wish to avoid or minimize. Players who join mid-game should discuss these topics with me during our One-on-One Session 0. There are certain themes that are central to the text and cannot be avoided. Call of Cthulhu games necessarily play on themes of body horror and mental illness, and this particular campaign includes a subplot concerning unwanted romantic advances. Tabletop role-playing games are meant to be an escape from the troubles of our daily lives. Above-table prejudices, including racism, misogyny, homophobia and transphobia are NOT acceptable at my table and will lead to your immediate removal.

How will character creation work

Characters should be created per standard Call of Cthulhu or Pulp Cthulhu rules (whichever the group decides). The campaign offers ten pre-generated investigators, which are recommended as a starting point for new players, as well as character templates for students and faculty member investigators depending on their academic and extracurricular interests. Character creation will be part of Session 0 and will establish all of the investigators within the campaign as well as any relationships with NPCs or other tie-ins to the initial storyline.
