About the adventure

You were just looking for a job in Altdorf, but gods had different fate for you in store. Now, embroiled in a secret and deadly battle for the soul of the Empire, can your group of misfits prevail and save the Old World? Or will you kneel before the gods of Chaos and bring on the End Times? The Empire is the greatest of Old World realms both in extent and military might. Seemingly all but invincible, it has stood tall against countless Greenskin Waaaaghs, Chaos invasions and even Skaven. Its State Armies are enormous and fight these monstrous threats with vigor under the command of Griffon-riding Emperor Karl Franz the First, who wields the mighty Ghal Maraz, dwarf-forged weapon of the founder-god Sigmar Heldenhammer. But not all enemies can be defeated by artillery barrage and strong sword arms. Beastmen, mutants and even worse things still lurk deep in forests. And the rot of Chaos seeps everywhere, as strange cults worship blasphemous gods. This is the Enemy Within. Warhammer Fantasy is a classic fantasy setting with millions of fans worldwide. The combination of gritty and dark themes with cold British humor gives it a certain uniqueness. Over the years it grew from a wargame to a universe with hundreds of books and tens of pc, board and roleplaying games. The Enemy Within campaign is one of its most celebrated inclusions, now remastered for the 4th edition of WFRP. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay uses d100 system with attributes and skills. The system is moderately crunchy and fairly deadly, with vast array of critical injuries that can happen anytime in combat. Characters will start very low, both in power level and status, and just surviving might be a challenge.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Pc with browser and microphone is needed, webcam and stable internet connection is appreciated. I will explain the rules at the start and handle character creation at the same time. Dice rolling and character sheets will be handled by Foundry VTT. Discord account for group discussion is a bonus.

What I provide

I will bring VTT, tokens, maps and rules and sourcebooks. And also experience and hopefully fun.

Gameplay details

Before character creation at the beginning of session 1, there will group discussion about individual limits and topics to avoid. During the game, I will be using the X card safety tool in Foundry.

How will character creation work

Character creation will happen in session 0 (or individually if someone joins later). Unlike most games, WFRP uses random tables to create your character, but alternatives will be provided.
