For those skilled with sword or spell, stealth or sleek the opportunity is nigh. Money, fame and adventure are all up for the taking to those daring few willing to risk life and limb. 🗺️ The Endless Dunes are a mysterious and magical place, where rocky crevasses can be filled with glowing magical flora, oases will appear and disappear if no-one watches, and magical storms called Ragers can tear through the landscape at a moments notice. The desert and it's coastal shore are yours to explore and exploit, just remember that Mercenaries always complete their contracts. After all, you take the jobs 'on your honour'. 🎭Roleplay with stakes - Get wrapped up in guild politics, as other guildmates compete for reputation, spoils and the good ear of your superiors. Discover rumours of hidden locations off the beaten path, said to contain rare monsters, glittering jewels and mythical magics. Not every encounter or job requires swords & sorcery, and your groups playstyle influences their reputation, which in turn influences how those you encounter react to you. ⚔️Strategic combat - To survive out in the endless dunes will require brains as well as brawn. Engage in combats on lushly detailed battle maps, making use of space, cover and environmental hazards to outmaneuver your enemies. 👪Integrated Backstories - Watch as the existence of your character shapes the world itself. Have characters from their past appear as help or hindrance, friend or foe and taking crucial NPC roles in the story line. Maybe your university professor has gone missing during an archaeological dig? Maybe a sibling has gotten in trouble with a local crime syndicate and there's a bounty on their head? Maybe an old war buddy needs help tracking down an old nemesis of yours?

About me
Hello friends of the gaming table! My name is Russell and I've been player and GM now since 2009. I have been a fantasy nut ever since seeing Star Wars (re-releases early 90's) and the LOTR films (early 2000's). I devour fantasy books wherever I can get my hands on them (Brandon Sanderson is my current favourite) and love fantasy CRPG's (first introduced to me in 1999 by way of Baldur's Gate). My first GM described the experience to me by comparing it to CRPG's saying 'In those games you typically have option A, B or C. Well at the table your options go all the way to Z and beyond. If it can be done, you can attempt it. Doesn't always mean it will work though.' Since then I have loved playing and running a whole host of systems too numerous to name, creating great stories with great people and having truly memorable moments that become inside jokes or core memories for the group. This hobby allows us to experience infinite worlds and situations beyond the scope of reality and that is entertainment at its pinnacle. Creating your character
👨🌾 Characters will start at level 1 and use the point buy system. During the session 0 you can go about creating your character in one of two ways: 🏰 1. Create them on D&D beyond, then I can import them into Foundry VTT. 🔥 2. Create them in Foundry VTT itself with my guidance. 🌏 Do be aware of a restriction on races however as many do not exist in the world of Alleria. The following list are the races that are available to play: 👪 Aaracokra, Harengon, Kenku, Tabaxi, Owlin, Tortle, Dragonborn, Leonin, Humans, Orcs, Wood Elves, Half Elves, High Elves, Loxodons, Minotaur, Dwarfs, Gnomes, Lizardfolk, Genasi, Warforged. 👨🏫 Homebrew classes are only allowed but all characters must be approved of the DM, so homebrew must be ran by me first. 👥I don't provide pre-made characters as I believe it stifles a players desires, but for new players I will spend extra time getting the specific ideas and themes of the character down, and providing options that match those ideas and themes. 📖 There is a backstory guide sheet, to help players with curating their backstory and will go over all backstories with players in private (out of session time if necessary) so you know that at some point down the line, your backstory will make a major impact on the campaign.
Welcome to the world of Alleria weary traveler! You are most welcome to come and play for as long as your wish. The campaign is scheduled to take place weekly. Character creation will be done before joining the campaign through a session 0/individual meeting (if joining after the campaign is underway).

How Russell Hawkins creates a safe table
📖 Patience with the learning of the rules so everybody feels comfortable with the flow of the game. 💬 Most conversation will take place over discord, either through the voice chat or via direct messages (if something needs to be kept private from other players. 🚾 There is a 10-15 minute break at roughly the 1 hour 30 minute mark of each session to allow for leg stretching and bathroom going. ⚠️ Players will be informed of the Safety Tools in use and how to use them, as well as my community standards and rules (such as 0 tolerance to any homophobia, racism, transphobia etc towards anybody).
