About the adventure

Night has fallen, and the blood moon is high in the night sky. Darkness stretches through the cobblestone streets and alleys, and the wind carries with it the inhuman howls of horrifying creatures, along with the bloodcurdling cries of their victims. This city is strange and terrifying. The people barricade themselves within their homes as horrifying beasts roam the streets, killing any person they cross. Luyarnha, a city once prosperous and full of fortune, now host to The Hunt. The only rule here is survive. - - - Are you a fan of horror? Bloodborne? Eldritch abominations? Gothic steampunk vibes? Then you've come to the right place! Steinhardt's Guide to the Eldritch Hunt is a massive 5e supplement that draws *heavy* inspiration from Bloodborne, Lovecraft, and other works of cosmic horror. Are you strong enough to face the darkness that lurks within, Good Hunter?

About me

I've been playing D&D for the last 20 years, and the last 8 of that have been as a DM. For the past 5 years, I have been professionally organizing and running D&D events for local businesses and communities. I use Foundry VTT for my sessions, with a big collection of animated maps and tokens to bring the game to life. I like to get my players invested in whatever world they're playing in, so I'm always happy to work with you on character creation and weaving in backstories. The game isn't fun for me unless everyone else is having a good time. And yes, I do voices.

Character creation

Creating your character

Upon joining the table, you'll find a link to my discord server. Once you acquire game permissions, there will be information on what sources are allowed, as well as links to the Eldritch Hunt PDF for all the campaign specific content you'll need. Come to Session Zero with a few character concepts in mind, and we'll discuss our character ideas as a group and then dive into creation together.

The current party

This game will run Fridays, 1-4 PM Pacific

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Absolutely Necessary: - A reliable internet connection - A laptop or desktop with enough juice to handle Foundry and the occasional animated map. A tablet or other mobile device will not work. - A halfway-decent headset/microphone Nice, but Not Needed: - A webcam. It helps a lot with communication to be able to see each other and have some degree of expression and body language to work from.

What Mike brings to the table

- 20 years of TTRPG experience - Nearly a decade of experience as a DM organizing large-scale gaming events and homebrew settings. - A love of gaming and storytelling - Basically a walking horror encyclopedia - A Foundry license with roughly 200 gigs of beautiful maps, music, ambience, and assets, both animated and not - A safe space for LGBT and other marginalized folks to game without worry of harassment or prejudice - Like seriously, way too many maps, I don't know what to do with them all, please send help

How Mike creates a safe table

This campaign will be a brutal game of survival horror. Combat will be fast-paced and tactical, with a focus on managing your finite resources to stay alive. You'll explore the streets of Luyarnha, and the nightmares that lurk beneath. During Session Zero, we'll discuss and create characters as a group, so come to the table with more than one idea in mind. We'll also go over safety tools and lines and veils, though be warned that this will not be a campaign for the faint of heart.
