About the adventure
Legends of Barovia is an expanded Curse of Strahd campaign that weaves new lore into the mythical lands of Barovia. With these guides, you can have a rich, new experience in the amazing Curse of Strahd campaign. Curse of Strahd and Ravenloft (I6) remain some of the most beloved campaigns in the D&D canon. Released in 1983, Ravenloft (I6) has been expanded and iterated on over the last forty years. D&D 2e and 3.5e brought forth more adventures, monsters, treasures, and lore, expanding the original adventure module into a campaign setting. Following the advent of 5e, the 2016 release of Curse of Strahd brought with it a rebirth of the Ravenloft mythos and created a patchwork of the old and new. Legends of Barovia borrows from the Ravenloft mythos of earlier editions of D&D as well as elements from real-world history and literature. Now, this world is yours too. Watch this video for mood and vibe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJEBJQU1Y_E Curse of Strahd is a 5th edition D&D adaption of the award-winning 1983 Ravenloft module for AD&D, written by Tracy and Laura Hickman. In the years since, the original has gained a reputation as one of the greatest Dungeons & Dragons adventures ever. Curse of Strahd uses recurring elements inspired by classic horror literature and gothic fairy tales. The players find themselves drawn into the cursed land of Count Strahd von Zarovich, a terrifying predator hidden behind a romantic, noble veil. Once there, they must contend with the horrors of Barovia – misty forests full of wolves and witches; haunted manors and abandoned castles; grotesque monsters in the shadows; and other creatures that serve Strahd’s evil will. Please note: Due to its influences, Curse of Strahd includes some unfortunate themes that may be uncomfortable for some players. While care has been taken to interpret and adapt such content, some of these themes may persist. This includes implied violence against children and women; problematic depictions of mental illness, abuse, and addiction; and racial stereotypes often attributed to the real-world Romani people. During the game, if you are at all uncomfortable with any of the book’s content, please speak to me immediately or between sessions.

About me
I obsess almost religiously about fantasy and making friends in imaginary games. Looking back in my head together with people I play DnD with about our session is pure ecstasy for me. I don't care how weird that sounds. I have a great attention to detail, and I make my games unique and special in every way that I can.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
Have a general idea of something you'd wish to play, I will have everybody create their characters roughly together and talk about it before session 0. Level 1 Standard Array You will discuss closely with me about the creation process and any backstory details.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Have a good quality mic and internet connection. Have a few loose ideas for characters. Be willing to have fun and be involved. There is a player guide pdf that is required reading.
What Hades brings to the table
I will be bringing a high level of investment into you as players, and the characters you create. I wish to make new friends and have a grand time making new stories. I will be customizing a fair few things depending solely on the characters the players create and I tend to involve elements of each backstory to the best of my ability. I make maps if they're necessary and due to the hosting website players will always have access to view any maps or sheets they have access to any day of the week. I bring my strict adherence to making sure every single one of my players is having fun and is being paid attention to.

How Hades creates a safe table
I have a large discussion during session 0 about lines and veils, my players can state them publicly or privately to me if they wish. Everything that I expect will be upfront and honest. I don't have fun with my players don't have fun. I won't limit myself creatively, but I won't ever purposely cross a boundary a player has created. I tend to always have 5-10 minutes after each session to talk about things that happened and get feedback. If there's ever a moment during a game that I need to have everybody step out of character to discuss in a meta way to avoid real-life conflict I will.
